Skyblock Lifebound Portals

This mod lets you play Skyblock in Hytale using the portal system for progression. The world mod is no longer required: simply install this mod and use /slp generate to create your world and start playing. Choose a starting setup ranging from classic islands and caverns to Ocean Chamber, Lava Chamber, and the new Moon Starter, earn and spend Life Essence with agriculture 🌾 to unlock new portals, and invest in the Portal Upgrade Bench to improve random keys with longer expedition time and more focused destination control.

Beyond the core Skyblock loop, the mod also adds agriculture automation, connected full-block SLP Glass for builds, and random portal progression systems for a more flexible playstyle. A traditional Skyblock island start is not required to enjoy the mod's content.

✅ Update 5 compatibility — updated for Hytale Update 5 and validated against the current release runtime.
🌕 Moon Starter — a new lunar opening that drops you onto a hostile Moon surface of Regolith and Moon Rock, with ruins, Moon flora, Moon Spiders, and scarce breathable air.
🌬️ Lunar air survival — the Moon start introduces breathable-air management through safe spots, embedded ruin support, and Moon Xenobloom air columns.
🫧 Air Field Machine — fuel it with Life Essence to create a breathable zone around itself, expand Moon safe space, and support underwater breathing while you remain inside its field.
🔧 Broader Air Field access — the Air Field Machine is available from the Moon Workbench and also from Skyblock Bench tier 2, so non-Moon starts can use it too.
🦴 Spider Legs and water crafting — Moon Spiders now drop Spider Legs, which can be used as crude weapons or processed at the Moon Workbench with an empty Deco Bucket into a filled water bucket.
🎯 Work in Progress objective system — some random portals can now roll bonus objectives with Extraction, Kill, or Observe goals, depending on the zone, portal type, and time of day. Zone 1 portals are now fully authored across all four portal types with a balanced spread of all three goal types.
🎁 Objective rewards and HUD — supported objective runs can grant extra rewards and now use a dedicated HUD that keeps the native portal timer visible.

Portal Upgrade Bench — extend expedition time, reduce portal risk, and specialize random keys toward the destinations you need most.
💧 Auto-Watering Machine — place it above water, fuel it with Life Essence, and automate crop watering.
🌾 Auto-Harvest Machine — automate mature crop harvesting, store outputs, and replant with loaded seeds.
🔀 Router — assign nearby storage blocks to fuel, seed, and output roles to support your automation machines across a local farm zone.
🎲 Random Portal Keys — open a mystery destination, with optional targeting, timer, and risk mitigation upgrades applied beforehand at the Portal Upgrade Bench.
🎯 Work in Progress objective runs — some random portals can add bonus Extraction, Kill, or Observe goals for extra rewards, with availability depending on the zone, portal type, and time of day. Zone 1 portals are fully authored with balanced daytime objectives and a Void-hunt bias on night runs.

🪟 Connected Glass

If you're here for the glass, SLP Glass is a connected full-block building block with border textures that visually connects to adjacent SLP Glass blocks. Craft it by smelting Rock Crystal Blocks in a Furnace. Recipes are available for blue, cyan, green, pink, purple, red, white, and yellow rock crystal blocks, giving you a clean material for windows, domes, greenhouses, and larger glass structures.

🎮 How It Plays

You begin in your chosen starter setup, whether that's a classic island, a cavern, a chamber start, or the hostile Moon Starter. Craft the custom skyblock bench. Gather Life Essence 🌾, craft the portal device, unlock a portal, and explore the new instances behind those portals for resources. Each portal sends you to a temporary instance 🧭, and when time runs out or you die, you return to your home world. As your base grows, you can invest in automation tools and in the Portal Upgrade Bench to improve random keys, extend expedition time, and steer your runs toward the resources you want most. On the Moon, breathable air becomes part of the survival loop, and expanding safe space becomes part of your progression. Outside Moon starts, the Air Field Machine also adds a new underwater utility path once you unlock it. Repeat to expand your options and progression.

📥 Installation

Install the mod using either method below.

a) Automatic install via the CurseForge App

Open the CurseForge App and use the install button for the mod. This will automatically place the file in the correct location and remove the previous version.

b) Manual install

Download the mod .jar file.
Copy the file into %AppData%\Hytale\UserData\Mods (PC).
If you have older versions of the mod, remove them before installing the new one.

⚠️ First time setup:

Launch Hytale.
Click the "create world" button.
Select "Exploration"
Click the Gear icon button (settings) ⚙️
Enable the "SkyblockLifeboundPortals" mod.
Save your changes.
Start playing
Once in-game, use the command /slp generate to create your Skyblock world and teleport inside.

📝 Notes

⚠️ Early access release: expect bugs and breaking changes as Hytale updates.
Additional portals and content will be added over time.
If players enjoy the Moon Starter, it may later grow into a deeper branch with more Moon portals, creatures, and dedicated progression content.
Dropped items despawn after 5 minutes. 🧹
Birds are also removed after 5 minutes. 🐦
NPCs that fall below height 1 are removed; otherwise they remain indefinitely in the sky.
