Check these two before your first start
Two tools act without anyone typing a command. Both are on by default, so turn them off first if you don't want them:
- ServerBackup zips the world every 60 minutes (skipped if nobody is online and nothing changed) and once at shutdown, keeping the last 10. Archives go to
mods/dev.playerbase_ServerBackup/backups, so check your disk space. - Kits gives every new player a starter kit on their first join.
Switches
serveressentials.properties in mods/dev.playerbase_ServerEssentials/ (created on first start) has one line per tool, as listed above:
kits.enabled=false
serverbackup.enabled=false
chatformat.enabled=true
Change a line and restart. A tool that is off is not loaded at all: no commands, no timers, no listeners. Its saved data stays on disk for when you turn it back on. The console prints one summary line at startup with what is on and off.
Settings
Each tool keeps its own folder and settings file, created on first start: mods/dev.playerbase_<Tool>/<tool>.properties, for example mods/dev.playerbase_Announcer/announcer.properties. Playtime has no settings file; its data is in playtime.tsv.
Moving from the standalone mods
Delete the standalone jars and add this one. Your settings, homes, warps, mail and play times stay where they are, because the folders are the same. Permission nodes do not change either.
If a standalone jar is still installed, Server Essentials leaves that tool to the jar and runs the rest, so nothing runs twice. The startup summary lists those tools under "left to a standalone jar". The server's /plugin list shows Server Essentials as one plugin; the tools inside it are not listed separately.
Good to know
/votebelongs to Polls. ServerInfo's vote page is off by default; if you turn it on, Polls keeps/voteunless Polls is switched off.- If one tool fails to start, the others keep running and the summary line names it.
- Tested on a live 0.7.5 server. TPA requests and poll voting have not yet been played by real players, so please report anything odd.
Install: drop the jar into the server's mods/ folder and restart. Licence: MIT.
Need something custom? I build small server plugins to order from $15 (fixes) and $29 (a new one-feature plugin): actuallyop.com/services. More free tools: actuallyop.com.
