[0.4.0] - 2026-10-12

Mod version: 0.4.0 · Game version: Hytale ^0.7.0

Ko-fi Discord

Chapter 1. The big RPG Leveling update. Max level is no longer the end: Zenith starts the next climb. Rare elite creatures hit harder and pay more XP. Other mods can add their own class passives, with a name, an icon, and a description on the class sheet. Gathering, the leaderboard, and combat all moved with this one.

🔄 Compatibility

  • Hytale server target - Updated minimum server version to ^0.7.0-pre.5.1 (pre-release patchline).

✨ Added

  • Custom class passives - Add a passive in mods/Zuxaw_RPGLeveling/Classes/PassivesConfig.json with Name, Icon, Template, and numbers per tier (T 0 through 4). Put its id in the class Passives list. The class sheet shows the icon, the name, and the text for the tier you are viewing (four passives on screen). Another mod can run an effect when you use a command, a key, or a potion, or when you hit, take damage, or get a kill. It only runs if you have that class and the tier is high enough. Built-in passives are unchanged. See Custom passives.
  • Elite creatures - A rare roll can mark a leveled creature as elite. One star (*) on the nameplate means double health, damage, and kill XP. Two stars (**) means triple. Defaults are about 1.5% for * and 0.25% for ** (roughly one elite in fifty creatures, and double-star much rarer). Turn off with EnableEliteNpc, or tune EliteStarChance, EliteDoubleStarChance, EliteStarMultiplier, and EliteDoubleStarMultiplier in mods/Zuxaw_RPGLeveling/RPGLevelingConfig.json, then /lvl reload or restart. Traders and blacklisted roles are never elite. With Debug true, debug-nearby.txt also checks elite HP, elite damage hits, and elite kill XP the same way it checks normal level scaling.
  • Nearby debug file - With Debug set to true in mods/Zuxaw_RPGLeveling/RPGLevelingConfig.json, and while you are in the world, the mod rewrites mods/Zuxaw_RPGLeveling/debug-nearby.txt every couple of seconds. It checks your level, XP bar, stat points, language, HUD placement, hotkey, class, Zenith, the zone or instance you are standing in, kill XP, nearby creature levels and name plates, health and damage scaling, gap damage and defense, and that traders and blacklisted creatures do not wear a level plate. A missing hit or an empty class is noted, not a failure. A wrong value fails the file. Reload with /lvl reload or restart after changing Debug.
  • Zenith - The climb after max level. Hitting max level, from any XP source, grants one Zenith rank, one roll token, and one stat reset token (the token used by Reset All). Open the Zenith tab in /lvl gui and press Roll. One token equips one random favor you have unlocked. That favor stays until the next roll. Some favors proc on a cooldown (a speed burst at low health, a saved death, a bigger harvest). Others stay on while equipped (more XP for you, or for nearby allies). Unused tokens stack. Spare Token gives extra roll tokens. Favor Pick lets you choose. By default you return to level 1, your allocated stats are cleared, and you earn stat points again on the way up, with gameplay XP doubled (RelevelXpMultiplier). Set ResetStatsOnZenithRankUp to false to keep your stats and stop earning more points on the way back. Set ResetLevelOnZenithRankUp to false to stay at max level. BlacklistedFavors removes favors from the roll; they still show on the deck as Disabled. Your rank shows next to your level, on the class HUD, in chat, and on the leaderboard. Turn it off with EnableZenith in mods/Zuxaw_RPGLeveling/ZenithConfig.json, then /lvl reload. Admins: /lvl setzenith, /lvl setzenithxp, /lvl setfavor, /lvl clearzenith, /lvl givereroll. Other mods can grant the same roll tokens through the public API. See Zenith.
  • Per-class tier kill requirements - In each Classes/Class*.json, optional Kills on tiers T0–T3 sets how many kills that class needs to reach the next tier. If omitted, the mod still uses TierProgression.Kills from ClassesGlobalConfig.json. Edit the class file, then /lvl reload or restart.
  • Archery tiers up 30% faster by default - Default Archery Kills are 105 / 210 / 350 / 420 (30% fewer than other classes). Existing Classes/ClassArchery.json files are updated on the next server start via config migration.

🔄 Changed

  • Damage stat description - The Stats GUI now says Damage increases all damage (melee, ranged, and magical), matching how the stat already works in combat.
  • Leaderboard podium - The top 3 sit on a podium above the table, with each player's head portrait, level, and Zenith rank. The table underneath still lists everyone.
  • Faster Mining and Woodcutting - With points in Mining or Woodcutting, blocks break four times as fast as the config formula alone. Your config numbers stay the same.
  • Woodcutting XP halved - XP from chopping wood, including every block that falls with a tree, is half the previous amount. Mining XP is unchanged, and the config numbers stay the same.
  • Leaves no longer grant woodcutting XP - When a tree falls, trunks, branches, and roots that break still grant XP. Leaves do not. The block you hit is not counted a second time.

🐛 Fixed

  • Class skill kills on multi-kill swings - Fixed. Cleaving several creatures in one swing (for example a pack of wolves) now counts each kill toward class tier progress, matching the kill notifications. Before, only one kill was counted for the whole swing.
  • Class HUD one kill behind on tier-up - Fixed. When a class kill finishes a tier, the class HUD now switches to the new tier (and 0/... kills) right away, matching the tier-up notification. You no longer need to open /lvl gui (or Alt+1) to refresh it.
  • World crash on Overkill / on-kill speed buffs - Fixed. Killing several creatures in a short burst (Heavy Overkill and similar on-kill timed buffs) no longer crashes the world with Entity already contains component type: ActivePassiveBuffs. The buff is applied once and refreshed on later kills instead of being added twice.
  • Monster name and level - Fixed. A nearby creature shows its name and level above its head again.
  • Creature health scale - Fixed. A creature's max health now follows its level again (1 + level × HP% per level from the difficulty preset).

Translation

  • Damage stat description clarifies all damage types. Edit mods/Zuxaw_RPGLeveling/languages/MessagesLanguageMapping_<lang>.json, then restart or /lvl reload.
  • Key: stats.descriptions.damage (default English now: "Increases all damage (melee, ranged, and magical)")
  • Zenith tab, claim button, favor notifications, leaderboard column, and admin replies. Edit mods/Zuxaw_RPGLeveling/languages/MessagesLanguageMapping_<lang>.json, then restart or /lvl reload.
