Roosta’s Farming
Make farming easier with area tools, reusable seed bags, tiered sickles and nearby-water hydration. Prepare soil, plant seeds, water crops and clear vegetation across several blocks with one action.
Heavy Hoe and Watering Can
Work larger areas with Roosta’s Heavy Hoe and Watering Can, featuring custom models and matching icons.
- Both default to a 3 × 3 area, adjustable from 1 × 1 to 8 × 8.
- The working area extends forward from the block you’re aiming at.
- Hold Secondary Use to keep tilling or watering.
- Each successful action uses one durability point or watering charge, regardless of area size.
- Fill the watering can at water as usual.
Reusable Seed Bags
Choose your seeds and plant a whole area without placing every crop individually.
| Seed Bag | Farmer’s Workbench Tier | Maximum Area |
|---|---|---|
| Iron | 2 | 3 × 3 |
| Cobalt | 4 | 4 × 4 |
| Adamantite | 5 | 6 × 6 |
Each bag costs 4 Light Leather, 6 Plant Fibre and 3 bars of its tier material.
- Secondary Use: choose a seed type and planting size.
- Primary Use: plant on tilled soil or in planters. Hold to repeat.
- Uses ordinary seed packets from your inventory.
- Consumes one seed packet per successfully planted crop.
- Skips occupied spaces and plants only as many crops as you have seeds.
- Remembers your selected seed and each bag’s planting size.
- Bags are reusable. Eternal seed packets cannot be used.
You can also open the seed picker with /seedbag while holding a bag.
Area Preview
See where you’re about to till, water or plant before using your tool.
A teal border outlines the working area, while a gold square marks your selected tile. The preview follows your facing direction and chosen area size and is visible only to you.
Tiered Sickles
Harvest mature crops and clear vegetation in a square around your target.
| Sickle | Default Harvest Area |
|---|---|
| Copper | 3 × 3 |
| Iron | 5 × 5 |
| Thorium | 7 × 7 |
| Cobalt | 9 × 9 |
Each sickle has its own adjustable radius, from a single block up to a 17 × 17 area.
Use Primary or Secondary Use to cut, or hold Primary Use to keep working.
Cut More Than Crops
Sickles also clear:

- Bushes and shrubs.
- Common flowers, including daisies and dandelions.
- Collectible ground mushrooms.
- Mature sunflowers.
- Reeds, including marsh cattails and all other reed variants.
- Young crops, young sunflowers, trees and saplings are left alone. Mature crops keep their usual produce drops and regrowth.

- Enabled by default with a 4-block range, including diagonals.
- Adjustable from 1 to 8 blocks.
- Works with source and flowing water.
- Water must be level with the soil or one block above it.

Getting Started
Craft Roosta’s farming tools at the Farmer’s Workbench. They have their own models and icons, while standard vanilla tools keep their usual behaviour.
No additional mods or key bindings are required.
When updating, remove the older Roosta’s Farming JAR and keep your configuration. Disable Farming Overhaul to avoid overlapping crop and drop changes.
