Once the mod is installed and enabled, simply use the command /replay or /cutscene to get started. From there you will be able to start and stop recording, and edit your previous replays.
Note that on Singleplayer, when clicking to open a Replay you'll get a message saying that you will get disconnected. That is expected, then simply click 'Reconnect' to access your Replay.
Because Hytale mods are server-side, there is no way for this mod to implement any kind of video rendering. And it's not even a feature in the game for Machinimas.
However, I added a button that allows you to hide the Editor UI until you click again, so you are able to record the result as a video using an external recording software.
