What's new
QuestLines Claims – Version 1.4.0
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🆕 Features
• Server default language is now configurable via default_locale in questlinesclaims.conf (a player's own language setting still takes precedence).
• Decay-protected claims - /claim protect toggles decay-exemption on the claim you're standing in, so admins can preserve builds no matter how long the owner is offline.
• Claim homes now carry an icon of the block you set them on, shown in /claim homes. Existing homes pick one up next time you re-set them.
• LuckPerms permissions can now be scoped to a claim or region - grant a node only inside a named region, only in wilderness, or only to a claim's owner or trusted members. Applies to every plugin's permission checks, not just Claims.
⚙ Changes
• Owners can now grant themselves fly in their own claim without giving it to everyone - the permission editor gained an Owner column where fly (and other grant-only flags) can be toggled just for the owner. Existing owners start with fly off.
• Abandoned-claim decay now spares claims with an active member - a claim survives if the owner or any member has logged in within the decay window, not just the owner.
• /claim admintoggle now takes plain trailing words (e.g. "fly off all") instead of --flag=value options.
• Command arguments that required --flag= syntax are now plain positional with tab-completion (clear, buychunk, giveshards, particles, setspawn, import, region setowner/settenant, border center).
• Split the admin permission into granular per-capability nodes so staff can be granted read-only claim access (adminlist/admintp/chunks) without build-bypass or edit rights; holding questlinesclaims.admin still grants everything.
⚙ Optimizations
• Claim particle borders now skip their nearby-claim and region scan on ticks where no border effect is due to be drawn.
• Particle border rendering no longer allocates short-lived collections for every border edge, cutting garbage for players standing in dense claims.
• Players with particle borders switched off, and servers without a Pro license, no longer do any per-tick work for them.
• Claimed-chunk totals now come from the existing claim index instead of scanning every claim, so opening and panning the claim map no longer stalls the server on large claim sets.
🐛 Fixes
• Sleeping no longer breaks claim fly - flight comes back when you get out of bed (or off a mount) instead of staying off until you leave the claim and return.
• Area sickles count as harvesting again - a crop broken during a harvest is gated by the HARVEST flag (falling back to BREAK) instead of BREAK alone, matching the hand harvest.
• Blocked bucket use now says so - placing or scooping water/lava on protected land sends the usual denial message instead of silently doing nothing.
• Buckets can no longer scoop water (or lava) out of land you cannot build on - filling a container now checks the BREAK flag at the fluid it drains, matching the existing check on placing fluid. Mugs and watering cans take nothing from the world and are unaffected.
• Hardened the Pro license server id against accidental resets - it is now mirrored to a self-healing backup location, so a single deleted file no longer drops the server to free tier.
• Owner-restricted flags like fly can now only be toggled in the permission editor by the land's true owner - a city officer with claim-management rights can no longer enable them on land they don't own.
• Admin-only /claim import, particlegrant/particlerevoke, and license commands now enforce permissions for players (were previously reachable ungated).
• Fixed startup against MySQL 8 - connecting no longer fails with an "RSA public key is not available" error.
• A database that fails to open now reports the real cause and stops startup, instead of surfacing as a NullPointerException later.
