Turns some nights into Blood Moons: mobs get more HP and damage

BloodMoon

The BloodMoon mod introduces a dynamic and challenging event to the world of Hytale.

During certain nights, the environment becomes considerably more dangerous, forcing players to be prepared or seek shelter to survive until dawn.

🌑 Event Mechanics

🌙 1. Start and End of the Blood Moon

  • Frequency: By default, a Blood Moon occurs once every 3 nights.
  • Schedule: The event begins at 20:00 (in-game time) and ends at 05:00 in the morning.
  • When the Blood Moon begins, all players in the world receive an on-screen visual notification, warning them of the danger and the increased enemy statistics.
  • Werewolfs! Sometimes, a random player in the game receives the visit of a Werewolf... ;)

❤️‍🩹 2. Difficulty Increase

While the Blood Moon is active, the creatures of the world undergo the following changes:

  • Increased Health: Hostile mobs have their usual maximum health multiplied by 2 (HpMultiplier = 2.0). This means it will take twice the effort to defeat them.
  • Increased Damage: The damage inflicted by melee attacks from hostile mobs is multiplied by 2 (DamageMultiplier = 2.0). A single hit from a basic enemy will be much more lethal.
  • Both values are customizable.

☀️ 3. Recovery at Dawn

When the clock reaches 05:00, the Blood Moon event concludes.

  • Surviving enemies will recover their normal statistics (their maximum health and damage will return to normal).
  • If an enemy with increased health had more current health than their normal maximum health at the end of the event, their health will automatically adjust to their new normal maximum limit to prevent them from maintaining extra health during the day.

 

⚙️ 4. Configurable

You can customize the mod using the json configuration file, in-game commands and UI.


Note: All numerical values mentioned (frequency, damage/health multipliers, and schedules) are the default values configured in the mod's internal system.
