Orbis Director 0.1.3 - Alpha Preview Update

This update turns the preview into a clearer playable loop: events can now spawn thematic NPCs,
track their deaths as the main objective, complete on NPC kills, and drop configurable rare loot.

Added

  • NPC kill objectives for all seven built-in events.
  • Immediate SUCCESS resolution when all tracked event NPCs are killed.
  • Combat progress broadcasts, such as current kill count versus required kills.
  • Configurable rare drops in loot.json.
  • Asset diagnostics for loot item ids in /orbis doctor assets.
  • /orbis panel, with reliable chat output for the active event and an experimental in-game
    window attempt.
  • Example config/loot.json for the manual support package.

Changed

  • Presence-based resolution is now the fallback, not the primary objective, for built-in events
    with NPC spawns.
  • /orbis reload applies events, visuals, NPC mappings, and loot mappings live.
  • Public docs now describe the real alpha behavior: prefab marker, NPC spawns, kill objective,
rare drops, persistence, diagnostics, and known preview limits.

Fixed / Hardened

  • Runtime configs and local database files are excluded from the release jar.
  • Jar verification rejects leaked orbis.json, regions.json, events.json, visuals.json,
npcs.json, loot.json, .db, and .bak files.
  • Config validation remains fail-closed: invalid reloads do not partially replace the last good
    live config.

Known Alpha Limits

  • NPCs use official base behavior. There is no custom boss AI or combat balancing yet.
  • Prefab placement, NPC spawning, death tracking, and item drops are best-effort and depend on the
active world and installed official Hytale assets.
  • SQLite is the only storage backend in this build.
  • The in-game /orbis panel window is experimental; the chat panel is the reliable path.
  • Test on a staging server before using it in a live community.
