Description
"I call into question a realm located outside of standard spacetime, one with an aura of petrichor that can manipulate even the most cognitively dull into madness. A few who know of it claim that it's the origin point of the universe. Others say that it's a prelude, a reason for the universe to emerge rather than the emergence itself.
One thing is for certain, this realm is not singular. Through strenuous effort the Academia has identified multiple signals of this same type with differing contents. If it is the origin point of a universe, then how can we witness more than one origin? I believe the answer is quite clear. The question of chaos and order, of light and dark, of stone and chisel has to be answered for every universe before it emerges. Perhaps this realm is that question, hence the conclusion is the same every time." - Excerpt from the last written record of Master Sage E̸͇͊̓͛m̶̮̚p̸͙̿̄e̸̺̪̎͝d̸̦̪̈́ǒ̴͇͓c̶͖̘̥̋ỉ̴͚͝ǘ̷̺̼͒s̶̊
Technical Info (Release 1.0):
This Hytale mod currently contains an instance (world/dimension) and the assets that belong to it that I designed from the ground up. The goal is to procedurally generate a world that looks similar to the Black Garden from Destiny.
The dimension is currently accessible in adventure mode by crafting a portal via the arcane workbench. You will take fall damage upon entering the world through the portal and there is no way out. This mod is not yet prepared for an adventure-mode playthrough.
Borderland Erosion Warning:
I should mention that if you are intent on exploring the garden borderland, specifically the non-roofed area, you have to be patient with the world generation. I did some experimenting with position cell noise and positon pinch density functions to simulate erosion, however these processes are expensive to run. I could probably optimise the density nodes themselves for this specific task but that is not in the scope of this project as this is currently a demonstration of the capabilities of the node editor as it stands.
I've got quite a few ideas for density mutation nodes that can make erosion like this better and easier to compute, but I'm quite busy sadly so that will have to wait!
What you can expect to result from these erosion processes:
