Marriage v2.1.0
What's new
v2.1.0 - Somewhere To Go
2.0 made being married do something. 2.1 makes it do more the longer it lasts, and asks you what kind of marriage you want it to be.
Existing marriages carry over untouched. Their bond starts at level 0 and begins counting the first time either partner logs in on 2.1.0 - no back-pay, no reset, nothing to re-run. Your config is upgraded in place to version 5, and every new value arrives with its description beside it.

The Bond
Every marriage now has a bond that deepens with the hours you are married, the minutes you spend within reach of each other, the gifts you hand over and the things you kill side by side.
- A new Our Bond page: your level, how far through it you are, how long you have spent side by side, when your next anniversary falls, and the full ladder of perks. /marry bond says the same in chat.
- Levels are worth something on their own - partner regeneration reaches further and the partner teleport cools down faster with each one.
- A standing that grows with it: Newlyweds, Devoted, Steadfast, Inseparable, Eternal.
- A honeymoon - double bond XP for your first day married.
- Anniversaries at 1, 7, 30 and 365 days, announced to the server, and paid in gifts you can hold: a Love Letter at a week, a Gold Band at a month, a Diamond Band at a year. A partner who was away still finds theirs waiting.
- Optional bond decay for servers that want the bond to mean "we actually see each other" - off by default.

Seven Perks Worth Staying Married For
Each unlocks at its own bond level and has its own switch. Set a level to 0 to hand that perk out on the wedding day, or turn any of them off entirely.
- Death Alert - when your partner falls you are told where, and the spot is pinned on your map. It stays there while they are offline, which is exactly when you need it.
- Partner on the Map - their live position, in rose, on your world map.
- Shared Home - one home the two of you share. Either can move it, the other is told, and it travels across worlds.
- Bond of Pain - a share of the damage aimed at one of you lands on the other instead. It moves harm rather than creating it.
- Last Stand - when your partner falls beside you, their strength carries you a moment longer.
- Hope Chest - one container you both reach from anywhere. Both of you can have it open at once, from different worlds.
- Return to Your Beloved - rise beside your living partner instead of at your bed.

Vows - Every Marriage Its Own
Two couples at the same bond level used to have the same marriage. Now you swear a vow, and it decides what your bond is best at:
- Vow of the Hearth - a home and a chest, sooner and larger.
- Vow of the Blade - what one of you takes, the other shares. Harder, and sooner.
- Vow of Wandering - never far apart for long: quicker to reach each other, and to rise beside them.
A vow is chosen once and held - it is a promise, not a loadout. Renewing your vows is what lets you choose again: after long enough together, both of you ask, and you get a surge of bond, a reset decay clock, a fresh vow, and your band upgraded to the finest one you are holding.

Rings, Letters, and Little Things
- Ring tiers. The old ring is now the Copper Band; craft it up into Gold and Diamond. A finer band grows the bond faster AND knocks levels off every perk requirement. The lower of the two bands counts - a Diamond band is worth nothing unless your partner brought one too.
- Engraved rings. If the wedding does not consume the bands, they come away carrying both your names.
- Love Letters. Craft one, write in it, seal it. The words live on the item, so it survives being dropped, stored, gifted and the server restarting - and the tooltip says who it is from. Gift it; they read it whenever they like.
- A couple channel that stays on - /marry channel, and everything you type goes to your partner until you toggle it back. No command per line.
- Emotes - /marry hug, /marry kiss, /marry dance. Hearts, a sound, and a line for anyone close enough to have seen it.
- A partner plate showing your partner's health and distance while they are near.
- A Records page - longest marriage still standing, longest that ever was, most generous, most married, and most divorced.

Divorce Finally Costs Something
- If you both want out it is instant, as it should be.
- One-sided, it is filed: your partner is told, and can agree to end it at once or contest it. Contesting does not block the divorce - nobody should be able to trap somebody in a marriage - it makes it serve the full waiting period instead of the shortened one. The filer can withdraw.
- Afterwards there is a remarry cooldown, and the marriage is remembered: who, how long, and when.
- A divorce splits the Hope Chest stack by stack between you. Whoever is offline gets their half on their next login. Nothing is ever destroyed.

The Menu Does Everything Now
Every /marry command has a button. You never have to type one again.
- A Propose page listing everyone online you could ask, one click each. Somebody who has already asked you shows as Accept, because clicking it marries you on the spot. People who have proposals turned off are greyed with the reason, whoever you have already asked appears with a live countdown, and if a ring is required the page says so before you click.
- Teleport, gift, love note, letter, home, set home, forget home, Hope Chest, emotes, renew, divorce - all on your marriage page.
- Admins get /marriage force marry, /marriage force divorce and /marriage force info, plus a Divorce control on every row of the Married Couples page. Divorce and info work on offline players.

For Server Owners & Mod Authors
- The config grew by over 50 values, each with its description beside it and every one editable in game - the Admin page gained fourteen new sections for them.
- Want the perks without the progression? Turn Enable-Bond off and every enabled perk is simply available from the wedding day.
- The MarriageAPI gained getBondLevel, getBondProgress, addBondXp and hasPerk, and MarriageInfo now carries the bond level, XP, time together and anniversaries reached. MarriageEvents gained bond level changes, anniversaries, and shared homes being set.
- English and Chinese, both complete.

Notes
- Built for Hytale server 0.5.x.
- "Time married" only accrues while at least one partner is online - so a couple cannot reach the deepest bond by logging off for a month.
- Running Cultivation? Its Partnered Cultivation (双修) has read marriages through this API since its 0.6.0 - and now the link runs both ways. A Dual Cultivation page appears in the Marriage menu on its own, showing your Qi multiplier, how close you must sit, the realm you need, and whether the two of you are dual cultivating right now. On a server without Cultivation the page never appears.
