Machine Blocks 1.4.3 — WIP. (pushing early due to 0.5.9 png bugs)
G.N.O.M.E. Engineering Bulletin
The Singularity survived.
This was apparently considered a successful test.
Work In Progress: Several systems, visuals, alignments, and questionable engineering decisions are still being actively adjusted.
The trouble began when the G.N.O.M.E. Institute decided that ordinary generators were no longer sufficiently dangerous.
Someone in Advanced Power Research proposed building a Singularity Power Matrix: a reinforced containment frame surrounding an artificial point of unreasonable energy density, held together by stabilizers, emitters, receivers, oxygen systems, electrical arcs, and what the original blueprint described simply as “the important middle bit.”
The Safety Department objected.
Their objection has been archived.
Construction went surprisingly well until the containment team discovered that several energy beams were traveling vertically when they had been specifically instructed to travel horizontally.
This resulted in three destroyed clipboards, one permanently magnetized wrench, and an intern insisting that “electricity has never respected management.”
The engineers responded by adding more electricity.
There are now six bolts per energy channel.
This was officially described as improved stabilization.
Unofficially, nobody wanted to be the person who suggested removing them again.
The containment frame was also rebuilt with heavier armored plating, reinforced corners, recessed machinery, and substantially more metal than the original design. This was necessary after researchers noticed the previous frame looked less like a machine designed to imprison a star and more like something assembled behind a warehouse during lunch.
The new frame now looks appropriately capable of surviving a catastrophic energy event.
Whether it actually can has not been tested.
The test chamber is expensive.
The Energy Emitters, Receivers, Stabilizers, and Beam Conduits were subsequently realigned so their energy channels actually pass through the center of the Singularity instead of wandering through nearby grass, machinery, personnel, or neighboring departments.
A tiny invisible engineering cube was eventually installed inside the conduit assemblies to tell the lightning where it was supposed to go.
This solution was unanimously approved after several days of attempting to explain particle coordinate systems to people holding hammers.
Elsewhere in the facility, the Wind Generator department received new Capacitor and Controller equipment. The Wind Capacitor now contains its turbine assembly safely inside the unit, while the Wind Controller has been upgraded with proper monitoring hardware.
The word “safely” is being used here according to G.N.O.M.E. regulatory definitions.
The Gas Processing Division also discovered that Electrolysis_Vapor_Batch technically existed without a model.
It now has one.
Nobody had ever seen the item before.
Nobody was supposed to.
Management would like to know who reported it.
This update is still a WIP. Additional visual tuning, alignment fixes, balance work, and general G.N.O.M.E. interference should be expected before it is considered finished.
G.N.O.M.E. Safety Notice
If the artificial star appears brighter than usual, do not stare directly at it.
If it begins speaking, leave the facility.
If it asks where the interns are kept, do not answer.
If something still looks slightly wrong, remember:
WIP means the engineers are still inside.
