Machine Blocks Update — Factory Lines & Carbonization

Everything is documented in /msb, /machineblocks, /voile.

The G.N.O.M.E. Institute has completed another round of perfectly responsible industrial expansion. Several machines now do the work of several other machines, which has been classified as “efficiency” and not “a cry for supervision.”

Added

Recipe Mode Config

Added recipe mode support:

• normal
• easy

Easy mode reduces many bench and machine recipe material costs by half roughly, while preserving important part requirements and pufferfish-related engineering requirements.

The pufferfish remain structurally important. No further questions.

Factory Furnaces

Added four new multi-lane Factory Furnaces:

• Factory Furnace Basic — 2 input lanes
• Factory Furnace Advanced — 3 input lanes
• Factory Furnace Elite — 4 input lanes
• Factory Furnace Ultimate — 5 input lanes

Factory Furnaces smelt multiple lanes at once, save lane progress, cap output stacks, lock outputs during unsafe load windows, and avoid chunk-load nonsense.

G.N.O.M.E. would like to remind players that “more furnaces inside one furnace” is a valid engineering discipline.

Factory Crushers

Added four new multi-lane Factory Crushers:

• Factory Crusher Basic — 2 input lanes
• Factory Crusher Advanced — 3 input lanes
• Factory Crusher Elite — 4 input lanes
• Factory Crusher Ultimate — 5 input lanes

Factory Crushers use custom Java-controlled crushing logic while still working from the crusher recipe chain. They are built for higher-throughput rubble, powder, and crystal processing.

Geology has filed a complaint. G.N.O.M.E. has filed it under “progress.”

Factory Input Modes

Factory Furnaces and Factory Crushers now support two saved input modes:

• Keep Separate — each input slot feeds its own lane.
• Auto Split Input — matching stackable inputs are balanced across available lanes.

Input mode can be changed while the factory machine UI is open using:

• /machineblocks mode
• /machineblocks toggle
• /machineblocks inputmode
• /mbs mode
• /mbs toggle

This lets players decide between strict lane control and automatic stack balancing without needing to rebuild the entire factory, which disappointed the Demolition Department.

Carbonization Furnace

Added the Carbonization Furnace, a 3x3x3 multiblock furnace for large-scale charcoal production.

It uses:

• Carbonization Furnace controller X 1
• Carbonization Furnace Casings X 25
• Carbonization Furnace Interface X 1

Processing:

• Uses Fuel Cells
• Converts 10 logs into 20 charcoal
• Takes 90 seconds per batch

Incorrectly built structures are now safely identified as “decorative brick anxiety.”

Factory Machine Safety

Factory machines now include stronger safety behavior:

• Saved lane progress
• Chunk-safe processing
• Output stack cap protection
• Output locking during unsafe load windows
• No offline catch-up abuse
• Auto-start when fuel, input, and output room are valid
• Auto-stop when processing cannot continue

This greatly reduces machine weirdness after chunk loading, server restarts, and automation poking things with storage pipes.

Processing Logic

Factory Furnaces and Factory Crushers now run through custom systems instead of relying on normal single-bench behavior.

This means:

• Multiple lanes can process independently
• Each lane tracks its own progress
• Fuel and output checks are handled more safely
• Machines behave better with Modern Storage automation

G.N.O.M.E. calls this “controlled industrial logic.” The previous prototype was labeled “please do not touch that.”

G.N.O.M.E. Notes

• Factory Furnaces are not “just more furnaces.” They are organized thermal overconfidence.
• Factory Crushers have made rock processing significantly faster and rocks significantly less optimistic.
• The Carbonization Furnace has been declared safe when built correctly, which is the most important part of that sentence.
• Auto Split Input was approved after the Lane Management Department was found crying behind the output slots.
• The WIP Splitter remains locked in the “not for public bragging” cabinet.
