New

Way out

• Head underground and Lodestar marks the spot where you came in from the open sky.
• A green cave pin points back to it from the edge of the minimap for the whole trip.
• Follow it with /pin out (or Follow in the Atlas) and the gold marker leads you back to daylight. It clears itself when you get there.
• Passing through a ravine or a cavern open to the sky doesn't end your trip. It only ends after 15 seconds back on the surface.

Breadcrumb trail

• Faint dots on the cave map show the way you came.
• Only dots near your current level are shown, so stacked tunnels don't get confusing.
• The trail lasts for the whole cave trip, through level changes and any map setting changes.

Depth readout

• Underground, the info panel shows how far below the surface you are (for example 52 m deep) instead of the zone name.

Share places

• New Share button in the Atlas sends one of your pins to everyone within 100 blocks.
• /pin share <name> does the same from chat.
• /pin sendto player <name> sends a pin to one player in your world.
• They get a chat message saying who shared it, and the place shows up in their Atlas and on their map.

Server places

• Admins can mark places everyone sees, like spawn, shops or portals.
• Use Make server pin in the Atlas, or /pin server add <name>. Remove with Remove server pin or /pin server remove <name>.
• Server places show on everyone's minimap when they're in view, and anyone can follow them from the Atlas.
• /pin server list lists them.

Photo spots

• With the Viewfinder photo mode mod installed, the first shot of each photo session drops a camera pin, so good photo spots are easy to find again.

Server settings

• New config.properties in Lodestar's data folder lets server owners turn off, for everyone: creature icons, other players on the map (handy for PvP), the cave view, coordinates, Way out, sharing, server places and photo spots.
• /minimap reload applies changes without a restart.
• Anything the server has turned off shows Off (server) in the settings menu.

New settings

• Way out: turn the way-out pin and trail on or off.
• Photo spots: turn Viewfinder photo-spot pins on or off.

Improved

• No more background map work while you stand still underground. Cave pictures are only redrawn when they might have changed.
• Chat messages now start with [Lodestar].
