KweebecNightmare-1.2.0.jar
What's new
The Warden fight and the hunter waves run on the game's own encounter scripts. The Warden fights three phases on a real boss bar, the hunters arrive on schedule, and the Heartwood Gate opens the instant the Warden dies. Requires Ziggfreed's CommonLib 2.1.0 or newer.
- The Warden fights three phases. At half its health it sheds its bark and changes form, and two Blighted Kweebec rise from the bramble knots at the gate; at half of what it had left it changes again, wreathed in fire, and up to three more rise (never more than four adds at once). Its health bar reads full at the start of every phase, and the three phases together take the same beating the old single fight did, scaled to your party size and the night's difficulty as before. Both later forms were unreachable in earlier versions.
- New: the game's own boss bar. The Warden's health shows on the boss bar the game draws, under the Warden's name, one per survivor, and it stays up through every change of form.
- The gate opens the instant the Warden dies. The Heartwood Gate, the exit pad and the hunters' alert land the moment the killing blow does, not a few heartbeats later. A fight that cannot start (no Warden rose within twenty seconds, or the spawn was refused) opens the gate anyway, so an escape can never be soft-locked behind a boss that is not there.
- The hunters come on schedule. Five waves over the night: two as the corruption climbs, three as the first three shrines are lit, each one hunter per survivor under the night's ceiling. A wave spent is spent, so cleansing two shrines back to back draws two waves back to back, and the fourth and fifth shrines draw none.
- Emberbloom rings on every phase. A fresh supply of the damage-bursting mushrooms grows around the Warden as it wakes and again at each change of form, larger each time, with a smaller scatter through the grove. The timed top-up is gone, so the rings are the one supply.
- The Warden's notices are yours to reword. The awakens banner (shown once per survivor), the
phase warning, the defeat notice with your own share of the fight beneath it, and a new line for
a night that ends with the Warden still standing, are four small files under
Server/ZiggfreedCommon/FeedbackMoments/that a pack replaces by name. - For server owners: the boss and the waves are switchable. A preset names its boss by the
fight's script id (
KweebecNightmare_Warden_Encounter, case-sensitive; a preset that enables a boss without naming one opens the gate without a fight, and a fight script of your own is a different id there). The hunter waves are switched off for every round with{"kweebecnightmare_hunters": {"Enabled": false}}inmods/ziggfreedcommon/encounters.jsonand/zigencounter reload, leaving the den roster on its own. Pasting the Warden's spawner prefab by hand from the builder page leaves working spawn markers under its five blocks, not five plain blocks. - For pack authors: two readings a chase round contributes. How far the corruption has climbed (0, 1 or 2) and how many shrines are lit are readable by any requirement or condition on the server while a round is live, the way a skill level or a tally is, so a quest step, a dialogue line or a loot roll can turn on the night's state. Outside a live round both read nothing, and a condition on them stays shut.
- Gone: the old boss and wave rule files.
Server/ZiggfreedCommon/Bosses/Warden.jsonandServer/ZiggfreedCommon/EncounterRules/are no longer read. A server that had overridden a wave rule re-authors its escalation as a rung in the hunters' script (Server/EncounterManager/KweebecNightmare_Hunters.json); one that had overridden the boss file re-authors it as a fight script and points its preset at it. - Fixed: every Kweebec creature's environmental immunity applies. The five hunter breeds, the Grove Warden and the Duelmaster asked for it under a spelling the game does not read, so it never took and the server logged a warning per creature at boot. It applies, and the warnings are gone, along with seven more for keys the preset files never used and two from the Spitter's Void glob.
- Requires Ziggfreed's CommonLib 2.1.0 or newer, beside Perfect Utils as before. The library carries the fight framework this version stands on; the two jars update together.
