Sorry for taking a bit on this one. On top of being sick for the past week, life in general's just been kicking my ass quite a bit. But I think you all will be happy to hear I've finally finished the 1.0 release of the mod. This includes all the base game progression Keyblades (from Crude to the currently unreleased Prisma).
From here, I can focus on just adding Keyblades from the games, as well as beginning work on the Keyblade modifier system in preparation for the next major release of the mod. As you can probably guess by further on in the patch notes, I've got quite a bit planned, as you can probably guess from just the placeholders I added to these patch notes. But that's for me to figure out later.
- Added
"ServerVersion": ">=2026.2.19"string to manifest.json to prevent the 'incompatible mod' dialog from appearing in the future. If it still gives you the error, turn on 'Skip Mod Validation' in the world settings. - Finished the Keyblade Forge Model for all tiers, from 1-7
- Model and textures for the Ability Cards
- Crude Key crafting now instant to be in line with the other Crude equipment (as of Update 3 Prerelease 3)
- Reformatted the damage values of the Keyblades
- Refactored the Keyblade attacks so that they now actually use the proper names
- Added damage values for future Signatures and Charge attacks to Keyblades
- Added a Moogle Hologram Crystal item (doesn't do anything yet)
- Added data for Road to Restoration Keyblade
- Added Keyblade Shrine prefab (will add to worldgen once it becomes possible to do so).
- Added (currently inaccessible) placeholder Keyblade moves. The mod was flooding the log when the Keyblades pointed to these without these attacks actually existing. Spells like Fire/Blizzard/Thunder/Aero, aside from specific circumstances (such as Bond of Flame increasing damage for Fire/Fira/Firaga/Firaza) will work on their own Tier system (because this is bloated enough as is).
- Charge: Sliding Dash (Functionally Thrust)
- Charge: Sonic Blade (Rave) (Functionally Thrust)
- Charge: Sonic Blade (Finish) (Functionally Thrust)
- Signature: Ars Arcanum (Strike) (Functionally Combo 1)
- Signature: Ars Arcanum (Finish) (Functionally Combo 1)
- Signature: Strike Raid (Functionally Combo 1)
- Signature: Zantetsuken (Functionally Combo 1)
- Completed Keyblades:
- Adamantite Key
- Mithril Key
- Onyxium Key
- Prisma Key
- Torchlight
- Work in Progress Keyblades:
- None at the moment
v0.6 - Feb 7, 2026
Slowly approaching a state that I can be satisfied marking as a 1.0 release. Though there's still the Onyxium and Prisma keyblades to get through, I'll get there eventually. Though I have been tinkering with the idea of variable Keyblade lengths, as well as possibly a unique Signature move (my original idea was a Strike Raid attack, though I can't even imagine implementing that with my lack of skill to be honest).
Plus I'll be honest, I've been playing quite a bit of Terraria with some friends lately, partly to help me recharge since my energy is… well, it's seen better days.
- Added the new Keyblade Forge model (textures are still a work in progress).
- The X-Blade is now craftable (though requires as-of-yet unreleased materials)
- Shortened the standard Keyblade reach so it lines up with the model better
- Increased the X-Blade's reach
- Completed Keyblades:
- Cobalt Key
- Work in Progress Keyblades:
- Adamantite Key (modelled, flat color textures)
- Mithril Key (modelled, flat color textures)
v0.5 - Feb 2, 2026
Sorry that updates have been quickly slowing to a crawl lately. I think the fast update era is over, and honestly might've just been burning me out on this quicker. But at least the main progression Keyblades are all modelled (not complete, just modelled).
After I finish these, I'll start work on the Keyblades for the unreleased progression ores, as well as the Keyblade Armory's new model (since I can imagine its a bit confusing having it use the default Workbench model)!
Once all that's done, the mod will officially drop version 1.0, and I can start gradually adding new Keyblades, and maybe even start tweaking some things with the current Keyblade moves.
For right now though, my main priority is getting at least the base progression Keyblades of the mod working and finished up. I can worry about the rest of the crap after that.
- Modified the Iron Key and Template Keyblade to fix weapon trail rotations appearing way off
(no idea why the Hytale devs had the default weapons rotated the way they were but whatever, I found my way around it). - Added Custom Keyblade information to the lang file.
- Behind the scenes, completed the concept art for the Keyblade Armory.
- Completed Keyblades:
- Thorium Key
- X-Blade
- Work in Progress Keyblades:
- Cobalt Key (modelled, flat color textures)
- Adamantite Key (modelled, untextured)
v0.4 - Jan 30, 2026
I hopefully intend to start getting some work done on the Keyblade Forge soon-ish (at the very least getting the concept artwork done) since it's definitely a bit confusing having it use the standard workbench model.
Though at the same time, I might be a bit since my back has been killing me lately (hence the less-frequent upload schedule).
- Temporarily removed Keyblade models that still use the template (and unset those models so they pull from the template model) to make it a bit more clear which ones I've actually started work on.
- Completed Keyblades:
- Iron Key
- Work in Progress Keyblades:
- Thorium Key (modelled, untextured)
v0.3 - Jan 27, 2026
Behind the scenes, the concept art for the Keyblades from Crude to Prisma is complete. Though I might tweak them between now and the completion of the Keyblades themselves.
- Slightly tweaked Starlight's proportions
- Flips Keyblades so teeth face the correct direction when swinging
- Updated the template to make creating future Keyblades less of a headache
- Adds compatibility with Hytalor (adds base progression Keyblades to the Blacksmith's Anvil)
v0.2 - Jan 25, 2026
- Changes animations to use Longsword animations
- Adjustment to standard progression Keyblades damage
- Signature Ability changed to Mace Ground Slam
- Completed Keyblades:
- Copper Key
- Work in Progress Keyblades:
- Iron Key (modelled, untextured)
v0.1 - Jan 24, 2026
- Initial Mod Release
- Adds Keyblade Forge Workbench (currently uses the default Workbench model)
- Completed Keyblades:
- Kingdom Key
- Kingdom Key D
- Starlight
- Crude Key
- Work in Progress Keyblades:
- Copper Key (modelled, untextured)
