HyDustry
This is a mod focused on process automation within Hytale. It helps users obtain resources more efficiently and easily—without losing the game's core essence or diminishing the importance of in-game progression—by addressing the transport, conversion, extraction, and acceleration of processes.

¡Attention!
This is an experimental mod; recipes are subject to change. We ask for your patience regarding any technical bugs—there is no team behind this, just one person with very little free time.
This guide covers the player-facing content defined by the HyDustry mod. HyDustry is the mod that uses HyDustryLib as a dependency.
Quick overview
| Content | How it is obtained | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Crop machines | Craft at the Farming Bench; the required tier varies by model. | Water, fertilize, accelerate, or harvest nearby farmable blocks. |
| Essence converters | Craft at the Workbench. | Turn 15 matching essences into 1 matching ore in 2 seconds. |
| Essence extractors | Craft at the Workbench. | Scan matching ore blocks directly below the machine and produce mineral essence. |
| Transport Belt I | Craft at a Tier 1 Workbench in the Tinkering category. | Moves dropped items along its belt route and can transfer them between nearby storage or machines. |
| Mineral essences | Produced by their matching extractors. | Used as raw inputs by the matching essence converters. |
Mining machines
Mining machines are listed in the Engines creative category. The converter blocks provide separate input and output storage. The extractor blocks provide an output inventory; their operation is configured for the matching mineral.
Essence extractors
Each extractor is crafted at a Workbench, produces one machine, and takes 2 seconds to craft. It scans four positions in a 2-by-2 area immediately below the machine for the matching ore. The extractor needs at least one matching ore in that scan area and enough free output storage.

Each extractor's recipe requires 50 Life Essence plus 30 matching ore. The Iron and Copper extractors also require 30 Iron Bars and a Tier 1 Workbench; the Cobalt and Thorium extractors require 30 Iron Bars and a Tier 2 Workbench; the Adamantite extractor requires 30 Iron Bars and a Tier 3 Workbench.
| English display name | Machine crafting recipe | Bench | Scanned resource and output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copper Essence Extractor I | 30 Iron Bars, 30 Copper Ore, 50 Life Essence | Tier 1 Workbench | Scans Copper Ore; produces Copper Essence. |
| Iron Essence Extractor I | 30 Iron Bars, 30 Iron Ore, 50 Life Essence | Tier 1 Workbench | Scans Iron Ore; produces Iron Essence. |
| Cobalt Essence Extractor I | 30 Iron Bars, 30 Cobalt Ore, 50 Life Essence | Tier 2 Workbench | Scans Cobalt Ore; produces Cobalt Essence. |
| Thorium Essence Extractor I | 30 Iron Bars, 30 Thorium Ore, 50 Life Essence | Tier 2 Workbench | Scans Thorium Ore; produces Thorium Essence. |
| Adamantite Essence Extractor I | 30 Iron Bars, 30 Adamantite Ore, 50 Life Essence | Tier 3 Workbench | Scans Adamantite Ore; produces Adamantite Essence. |
Extractor output examples
The configured output multiplier is 2 essence per matching ore block detected. The configured time table and current machine code give the following results when the output inventory can accept the item:
| Matching ore blocks detected | Essence produced per run | Configured interval currently used |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 | 11.11 seconds |
| 2 | 4 | 5.56 seconds |
| 3 | 6 | 3.70 seconds |
| 4 | 8 | 2.78 seconds |
Example: if a Copper Essence Extractor I detects three Copper Ore blocks in its four scan positions, one run produces 3 Copper Essence after about 3.70 seconds. The same rule applies to the other four extractor/mineral pairs.
Essence converters
Essence converters are crafted at a Workbench and appear in the Engines creative category. Every converter takes 2 seconds per conversion, consumes 15 matching mineral essences, and outputs 1 matching ore. The block has separate input and output storage; use the front/top interaction to open output storage and the secondary interaction to open input storage.

| English display name | Machine crafting recipe | Bench | Machine recipe |

| Iron Essence Converter I | 15 Iron Bars, 15 Iron Ore, 25 Life Essence | Tier 1 Workbench | 15 Iron Essence -> 1 Iron Ore every 2 seconds. |
| Cobalt Essence Converter I | 15 Iron Bars, 15 Cobalt Ore, 25 Life Essence | Tier 2 Workbench | 15 Cobalt Essence -> 1 Cobalt Ore every 2 seconds. |
| Thorium Essence Converter I | 15 Iron Bars, 15 Thorium Ore, 25 Life Essence | Tier 2 Workbench | 15 Thorium Essence -> 1 Thorium Ore every 2 seconds. |
| Adamantite Essence Converter I | 15 Iron Bars, 15 Adamantite Ore, 25 Life Essence | Tier 3 Workbench | 15 Adamantite Essence -> 1 Adamantite Ore every 2 seconds. |
Farming machines
Farming machines appear in the Engines creative category and are crafted at the Farming Bench. Each one works on blocks in a cubic area around itself, not a circular area. The listed range is the distance checked along each axis. Crafting an upgraded model requires the previous model unless the recipe below explicitly states otherwise.

Industrial Hydro-Sprinklers
These machines periodically water nearby tilled soil. They do not harvest crops or create items. In the current server configuration their watering action is enabled, with no fertilizer or growth-acceleration action enabled.
| English display name | Machine crafting recipe | Bench | Operation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Industrial Hydro-Sprinkler I | 50 Life Essence, 5 Iron Bars, 5 Water Essence | Farming Bench; no tier is specified in the recipe. | Waters tilled soil within range 5 every 60 seconds. |
| Industrial Hydro-Sprinkler II | 100 Life Essence, 10 Iron Bars, 10 Water Essence, 1 Industrial Hydro-Sprinkler I | Tier 2 Farming Bench | Waters tilled soil within range 8 every 30 seconds. |
| Industrial Hydro-Sprinkler III | 150 Life Essence, 20 Iron Bars, 20 Water Essence, 1 Industrial Hydro-Sprinkler II | Tier 3 Farming Bench | Waters tilled soil within range 10 every 15 seconds. |
The descriptions call these irrigation machines and mention growth-cycle benefits, but the current component settings enable watering only. Their current interval and range match the values above.
Industrial Soil-Fertilizers
These machines periodically mark nearby tilled soil as fertilized. They do not water, accelerate, harvest, or directly produce inventory items in their current configuration.
| English display name | Machine crafting recipe | Bench | Operation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Industrial Soil-Fertilizer Mk. I | 50 Life Essence, 5 Iron Bars, 5 Fire Essence | Tier 2 Farming Bench | Fertilizes tilled soil within range 5 every 60 seconds. |
| Industrial Soil-Fertilizer Mk. II | 100 Life Essence, 10 Iron Bars, 10 Fire Essence, 1 Industrial Soil-Fertilizer Mk. I | Tier 3 Farming Bench | Fertilizes tilled soil within range 8 every 30 seconds. |
| Industrial Soil-Fertilizer Mk. III | 150 Life Essence, 20 Iron Bars, 20 Fire Essence, 1 Industrial Soil-Fertilizer Mk. II | Tier 4 Farming Bench | Fertilizes tilled soil within range 10 every 15 seconds. |
Crop Growth Accelerators
These machines periodically process nearby crop blocks. The item descriptions advertise a percentage increase, but the current implementation advances eligible crop growth close to the next growth stage instead of applying the advertised percentage. The intervals and ranges below are taken from the block configuration.
| English display name | Machine crafting recipe | Bench | Configured operation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crop Growth Accelerator Mk. I | 50 Life Essence, 5 Iron Bars, 5 Lightning Essence, 1 Industrial Soil-Fertilizer Mk. III, 1 Industrial Hydro-Sprinkler III | Tier 3 Farming Bench | Accelerates eligible crops within range 5 every 10 seconds. |
| Crop Growth Accelerator Mk. II | 100 Life Essence, 10 Iron Bars, 10 Lightning Essence, 1 Crop Growth Accelerator Mk. I | Tier 4 Farming Bench | Accelerates eligible crops within range 8 every 5 seconds. |
| Crop Growth Accelerator Mk. III | 150 Life Essence, 20 Iron Bars, 20 Lightning Essence, 1 Crop Growth Accelerator Mk. II | Tier 5 Farming Bench | Accelerates eligible crops within range 10 every 2.5 seconds. |
The listed machine data stores acceleration values of 5, 10, and 20, and the descriptions present those as percentages. The current growth logic does not read that value; do not rely on the stated percentage as the actual in-game result.
Automated Crop Harvesters
Harvesters scan nearby blocks for harvestable drops and store the results in their built-in inventory. The machine recipe data sets harvesting on and watering, fertilizing, and acceleration off. Their capacity is measured in inventory slots, not a guaranteed number of crop items; the yield depends on each crop's own harvest data and available storage space.
| English display name | Machine crafting recipe | Bench | Configured operation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Automated Crop Harvester Mk. I | 100 Life Essence, 25 Iron Bars, 300 Wood Trunks | Tier 4 Farming Bench | Harvests within range 10 every 10 seconds; 20 inventory slots. |
| Automated Crop Harvester Mk. II | 125 Life Essence, 50 Iron Bars, 600 Wood Trunks, 1 Automated Crop Harvester Mk. I | Tier 5 Farming Bench | Harvests within range 15 every 5 seconds; 40 inventory slots. |
| Automated Crop Harvester Mk. III | 150 Life Essence, 100 Iron Bars, 800 Wood Trunks, 1 Automated Crop Harvester Mk. II | Tier 6 Farming Bench | Harvests within range 25 every 1 second; 60 inventory slots. |
Harvesters are configured with an inventory interaction so their stored crop yield can be accessed. The mod defines no natural world-spawn locations for these blocks.
Transport Belt I
Creative category: Tools. Crafting produces 8 belts from 5 Iron Bars at a Tier 1 Workbench in the Tinkering category. The recipe takes 0.5 seconds.

Belts move item entities along their route and can pick up items from nearby compatible containers or machine outputs, then deposit them into nearby compatible containers or machine inputs. They must be placed and connected with the intended route; the mod files do not define a natural spawn location for belts.
Mineral essence items
These five items are listed in the Components creative category. The item descriptions identify them as raw materials for converters. They are not assigned individual crafting recipes in the mod's item definitions; their matching essence extractors produce them.
- Copper Essence is produced by Copper Essence Extractor I and consumed by Copper Essence Converter I.
- Iron Essence is produced by Iron Essence Extractor I and consumed by Iron Essence Converter I.
- Cobalt Essence is produced by Cobalt Essence Extractor I and consumed by Cobalt Essence Converter I.
- Thorium Essence is produced by Thorium Essence Extractor I and consumed by Thorium Essence Converter I.
- Adamantite Essence is produced by Adamantite Essence Extractor I and consumed by Adamantite Essence Converter I.

Craftable essences used by farming machines
The mod includes two standalone essence recipes. These are crafting materials, not machines.

| Output | Recipe | Station and tier | Craft time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water Essence x5 | 10 Ice Essence and 10 Fire Essence | Farming Bench, Tier 1 | 1 second |
| Lightning Essence x5 | 10 Life Essence, 10 Water Essence, and 10 Fire Essence | Farming Bench, Tier 3 | 1 second |
Life Essence, Fire Essence, Ice Essence, ores, bars, and wood are inputs to these recipes and machine recipes. Their own sources are not defined by HyDustry's server files unless listed above.
Content coverage and notes
The mod's Server item definitions contain 28 player-facing items: 23 placeable machine/tool blocks and 5 mineral essences. This guide covers all of them, plus the two standalone essence recipes and the Server category/configuration data relevant to crafting and placement.
