Husbandry Almanac v1.2.0

Unfortuantely, the Domestication feature is taking longer than anticpated to implement even before Hytale's Update 4.

While a great step in the right direction for Hytal by introducing animal taming in the vanilla game, these changes affected how the behaviors worked causing a rework of the growing and breeding systems for Hubandry Almanc.

This release is a non-backward compatiable release. Any Hytale versions that are not using Update 4 cannot use the new version of the mod and we are not able to work with the 1.2.0 version of Husbandry Almanc.

Tamed Animals - Breeding and Growing

The mod has been upgraded to ensure that tamed animals by players will breed and grow as expected. The following animals, tamed or not, will grow and breed as before:

  • Sheep
  • Chickens (and their desert variant)
  • Boars
  • Bison
  • Camels
  • Goats
  • Horses
  • Mouflons
  • Pigs (and their wild variant)
  • Rams
  • Skrills
  • Turkeys
  • Warthogs
  • Cows
  • Rabbits/Bunnies

New Breeding Balancing

While not anticipated, the changes to animals being tameable in vanillia has allowed us to make a change we were going to make once Domesitcation was complete, which was increase the maximum number of entities that can be in a range for tamed animals. These balance changes are to encourage players to build their own pens/barns/animal containment areas to bring animals home rather than leave them in the wild, while still keeping the untamed animals flock size larger than vanillia to keep a more living free wild.

  • Untamed animals have had the maximum number of specicies reduced from 10 to 8 within a 64x64x64 area.
  • Tamed animals have a maximum number of specicies set to 16.

We hope players will love the increase to their own tamed animals that they are keeping in their farms while still making exploring their area early game be viable until the farms are setup.

The Domestication feature is still going ahead, as the next major changes that will start to introduce a new workstation, new blocks, and new items in order to produce resources from the animals you'll be domesticating. Look for a preview video soon of what we have so far within the next couple of days or so!

Thank you all for the continued support and feedback! Happy animal raising!
