Overview
A major bug that was causing the breeding to go over the set limit and be faster than anticipated is included in this release. There has also been an adjustment to the entity limits in order to help alliviate lag for groups of people playing on the same server and to also lay the groundwork for the planned Domestication feature.
Included is also a start to some of the visuals to make the mod a bit more immersive. While only two animals currently have a pregnant version, there are plans to include a pregnant variant of every animal in the coming weeks.
Next Feature Target
The next targetted major feature will be the Domestication feature, to allow the groundwork for progression within the mod. The goal with the Domesitcation feature is to allow a controlled number of animals within a controlled area, ability to reduce the time between breeding and birthing, an increase in drops for animals, and a quality system for drops from animals.
Alongside the work on the Domestication feature, visual updates will be added to show more pregnant animals and visuals for when an animal is domesticated. These will be released as patches as they get done on as usual on Sunday/Monday (depending on when Curseforge approves the file).
Bug Fixes
Fixed two bugs that were causing overbreeding and overpopulation of the expected limit. Changes to the number of ticks for breeding, growing, and gestration have been increased to account for Hytale's TPS being 30 instead of the assumed 20 TPS.
- Fixed a bug where pregnant creatures of a species were not counted in the population size.
- Fixed a bug where newly spawned creatures and newly grown creatures would immediatelly breed, causing the breeding cycle to be much faster than intended.
- Increased the number of ticks for the following attributes of breeding and growing:
- Increased BaseBreedingCooldown, BaseBirthingTime from 36000 ticks to 54000 ticks. (~30 mins IRL).
- Increased the BaseDomesticationTime from 36000 to 72000 ticks. (~45 minutes IRL).
- Increased the DefaultTicksToGrow 24000 to 36000 ticks. (~20 mins IRL).
Breeding Adjustments
Adjustments have been made to help reduce the lag for multiple players on a server and to pave the way to the domestication feature.
- Reduced the maximum flock size of species from 16 to 10.
- Increased the BaseDomesitcationTime from 30 minutes to 45 minutes (reflected in tick increase during bug fix).
- Added rabbits and bunnies to be growable and breedable.
Minor Breeding Visual Update
Added the groundwork for some of the visuals for breeding, by showing pregnant animals as slightly bigger than their non-pregnant counter parts.
- Cows now have a pregnant model
- Chickens now have a pregnant model
