HedgeTale 1.0.1: The Fae Arrive
The Old Wood: the Fae are here
-
The Leshy: the first Ancient Fae boss. A gaunt, antlered forest horror waiting in a new Leshy's Hollow, deep in the forests. It fights with its claws, grasping roots and bursts of thorns, and calls Thornlings and wolves to help.
-
Lesser fae at night:
- Pixie swarms in the woods.
- Redcaps in the hills.
- Thornlings, walking briars.
Each drops its own reagent.
-
Imbuements: bind fae reagents into your weapons and armour for bleed, thorns, life steal, speed, damage resistance and more.
- Witches use the new Rites of Imbuement.
- Hunters use the new Alchemist's Crucible.
-
Path attire: the Witch's Regalia and the Hunter's Garb get stronger as you rank up your path. They have new hand-made designs, too.
Fae Rifts: a new world event
- Once you've slain a fae boss, rifts can tear open near you: "The Fae Realm spills into yours!"
- Fight three hard waves of new Unseelie fae: Gloam Hounds, Sidhe Archers and Sidhe Blades.
- Then face the boss, the Unseelie Knight.
- Every rift fae drops random loot. The Knight drops a reward for your path:
- Witches: the Starthorn Crown (cheaper rites, more mana).
- Hunters: the Gloam Glaive (hits witches, fae and the dead harder, and slows them).
- Walk away and the rift collapses.
Choose your side
- You no longer become a witch automatically. You only become one by opening a Grimoire, and you only join the hunters by swearing to the Order.
- To start fresh on an old save:
/ht playtest calling reset.
Visual fixes
- The Bone-Mother has a new look.
- Outlander witches are rebuilt: no more goggle eyes or half-dressed robes.
- NPCs use their proper names in chat.
