Gnarly Gliders

Gnarly Gliders overhauls aerial traversal in Hytale, moving beyond simple slow-falling by introducing a structured tiering system and a boost mechanic that rewards efficient stamina management. Designed to grow with your character, each glider tier is crafted using materials unique to Hytale’s four main zones; ranging from basic Forest materials in Zone 1 to the scorched essences of the Devastated Lands in Zone 4. This ensures your flight capabilities progress naturally throughout your playthrough. By utilizing the dedicated Gnarly Gliders Workbench and the rare Mithril Aerofoil upgrade system, you can transform these biome-specific wings into Legendary Tier 5 gliders.

Features

Note: Stats are determined by Tier, not Variant. Choose the look you love and upgrade it to reach peak performance!

Upgrading to Legendary (Tier 5)

Tier 5 gliders cannot be crafted directly, they must be upgraded.

1. 1. Obtain a Mithril Aerofoil: This legendary component is "light as a whisper, strong as a mountain."
   2. Open the Upgrader: Hold the Aerofoil and use it (Right-Click) to open the Glider Upgrader UI.
   3. Ascend: Select any Tier 1–4 glider from your inventory to instantly transform it into its Legendary T5 version with maximum stats and full durability.

**Note: You need Mithril and Stormleather to craft this**

How to Fly

• Deploy: With a glider in your hotbar, use it Left-Click to deploy.
• Glide: Use movement keys to steer and travel horizontally.
• Boost: While gliding, use your Right-Click to consume stamina for an upward burst. 
• Durability: Every glider consumes durability while its used. 

Configuration & Customization

Gnarly Gliders is designed to be flexible. Whether you want a hardcore survival experience or something a little more....gnarly, you can adjust the balance via the in-game GUI or the JSON config file.

1. In-Game Config GUI

No need to dig through files while the game is running. Access the custom configuration window directly in-game:

• Presets: Choose from five pre-defined balance settings:
  • Vanilla: Base game stats; no boost or stamina mechanics.
  • Tubular: A middle ground between Vanilla and Gnarly.
  • Gnarly: The intended mod experience (Recommended).
  • Radical: Gnarly stats boosted by 20%.
  • Overboard: Gnarly stats boosted by 50% for extreme speed.
  • Custom: Clicking the custom button will allow you to set your own stats for all tiers of gliders!
• Instant Apply: Clicking Save Config and then Reload applies changes to all players on the server immediately, no restart required.

• Commands:
  • /gnarlygliders config
  • /gnarlygliders reload
    OP permissions are required to execute these commands.
