GlymeraLimbo-2.0.0.jar
What's new
GlymeraLimbo — Changelog
2.0.0 — Real darkness
Light overhaul
- Digging now gets properly dark: tunnels in the floating islands, the shoreline magma islands and the ceiling darken with depth, and light falls in through openings and fades — just like caves in the overworld. Until now the whole dimension was uniformly bright, even deep inside solid rock.
- The open world is untouched: same bright permanent-noon look everywhere above ground.
- Light sources finally matter in Limbo: torches and Bloodstone genuinely light up dark tunnels.
- The darkness follows what is actually above you: break all the way through the ceiling layer and the light comes back in; sealing a hole or building a roof makes it dark below again. Roofs, towers and island overhangs cast soft shadows.
Colored light fixes
- Bloodstone now glows deep red instead of white. (Light definitions with a
Radiuskey overexpose the client's light to white — all five Limbo lights now use color-only definitions like the native crystals.) - Emberportal light is red-orange again; Limbobloom, Shade Bloom and Toxbloom keep their true colors.
- Emberportal texture: restored the swirl contrast that had collapsed during recoloring.
- Note: a block's light color is baked into the chunk when it is placed — blocks placed before this update keep their old white light until broken and re-placed; newly generated and newly placed ones glow correctly.
Existing worlds
- Safe to update: an existing Limbo world keeps working as-is. Chunks generated before 2.0.0 simply keep the old always-bright behavior; newly explored areas get the real darkness.
- To upgrade already-explored areas without a world reset, stand in them and run the new OP command
/glimbo relight(re-measures a 49×49 area around you). Also use it if a room carved into the ceiling with builder tools stays bright — command edits bypass the digging detection. - Heads-up before relighting player bases: relit areas follow overworld lighting rules, so existing enclosed builds (houses, rooms carved into rock or ceiling) become dark inside and will want torches — exactly like an overworld house. Player blocks are never touched; this is lighting only, but it is not reversible per area, so relight builds deliberately.
- For a completely fresh start, deleting the world folder still works as before.
1.0.0 — Initial release
A complete second dimension for Hytale: floating islands over an endless lava sea.
World
- Endless island band between lava sea and a rock ceiling with glowing Bloodstone boulders and lava falls
- Surface biomes: Sorrow Sand / Limbo Earth valleys and cooled-magma fields with glowing cracks
- Magma islands on the shoreline, a quarter of them veined with adamantite (configurable)
- Fortress ruins (seven layouts, up to a whole buried town) with Ashen Emberkin garrisons and a Slime Block hidden in one of their containers
- Burnt trees with buried roots, lava ponds, ember weather, permanent noon
Getting there
- Emberrock drops ~1:250 while mining in the normal world; build an upright frame and it self-ignites
- Return gate at the arrival point; every player returns to their own entry position
- Protected arrival area (radius configurable)
Creatures (all fireproof)
- Emberkin society: five armed professions fighting as a group; Ashen Emberkin undead versions garrison the fortresses
- Calydon (giant boar), Salamander (three sizes, splits twice on death), Ifrit and Djinn (flying fireball-throwers), Skeleton (kiting archer), Draugr (melee), Hogman (peaceful)
Drops & recipes
- Gold economy: Emberkin drop Gold Nuggets → 10 nuggets = 1 Gold Bar, 4 bars = 1 Gold Block (Workbench)
- Calydon: 50% Cooked Pork, 50% Medium Leather · Lesser Salamander: 25% Essence of Fire
- Lavaward Potion (10 Shade Blooms, Alchemy Bench): 30 seconds of complete fire immunity
Plants & furniture
- Limboplant (branching, breaks as one), Toxic Vine (creeps and climbs steps via corner pieces, poison touch), Shade Vine (grows only on the lava sea, plantable on lava like a waterlily)
- Three full furniture lines (15 pieces each, 45 total) via stem → block → furniture chains
Building
- Limborack and Limbomint stone families with 17 Builder's Bench shapes each
- Bloodstone lamp crystal, Sorrow Sand, Limbo Earth, Magma Block, Gold Block
- Slime Block: cancels all fall damage and bounces the landing entity upward
For server owners
- Server-side only, zero setup; farm-world reset by deleting the world folder
- Config: adamantite chance, fortress frequency, Emberrock drop rate, arrival protection radius
