What's new

Glymera Backrooms - Changelog

2.0.0 - Room bans, wardrobe surprise and fixes

Private rooms

  • Ban players from a room on its service panel (or with /hotel ban <player> / /hotel unban <player>). Banned players are put out in front of the door at once - even when they come in by teleport. Visitors you let in yourself may stay.
  • Keys and bans now belong to each room (a joined room shares one list) instead of all rooms of the owner.
  • Keys and bans also work for players who are offline (anyone who has been on the server).
  • A newly bought room comes with one random piece of hotel furniture in its wardrobe - a suite with two. Some pieces cannot be found anywhere else in the rooms.
  • Wardrobes and steamer trunks in free rooms stay locked; they open for the guest who takes the room. Containers in corridors and halls stay open for everyone.
  • Shorter buttons on the service panel (Trust / Untrust / Ban / Unban).

Fixes

  • Room Key and Lost Key show their proper names; the Lost Key got a description.
  • Smilers, Hounds, Skin-Stealers and Facelings show their proper names.
  • Desk Chair: removed a loose piece of wood under the seat.
  • Reception desk: the guest book no longer flickers.
  • Gramophone: closed the small gaps in the horn.
  • Skin-Stealers in the hotel no longer come back as naked copies after a restart.

1.0.0 - First release

Level 0 - The Backrooms

  • An endless, generated maze of yellow offices with dark zones and humming lights.
  • 38 office furniture pieces and blocks; filing cabinets, lockers and fridges hold loot (editable with /gbackrooms loot).
  • Creatures: Smilers, Facelings, Hounds and Skin-Stealers that copy the look of the player they hunt.
  • The way in: a lone office door appears near players in the normal world now and then.
  • The way out: Almond Water.

Level 5 - The Terror Hotel

  • An endless 1930s grand hotel: 9 floors, numbered guest rooms and suites, lobbies, ballrooms, restaurants, lounges, libraries and stairwells.
  • Working lifts with a floor menu, signs pointing to the nearest lift.
  • 67 hotel furniture pieces and blocks.
  • Reached with a Lost Key through an office door in Level 0.

Private rooms

  • Buy a room for 10 Lost Keys (a suite for 20), up to 20 per player.
  • Protected in 3D: only the owner and trusted players can open, build and break inside.
  • Neighbouring rooms of one owner merge into one apartment.
  • Service panel: hand out keys, take them back, give the room up (restored to its original state).
  • Room Key: right-click to jump to any of your rooms.

Hotel creatures (with their own sounds)

  • Deathmoth, Deathrat (lamps flicker when one comes for you), Ants (always in groups of five, bite like leeches) - and Skin-Stealers.
  • They never spawn in or enter a room that has an owner.
  • Strength, toughness and spawn rate follow the same config values as Level 0.
