Froggy Friends & Staff

Froggy friend & Frog Staff is a cozy Hytale mod about pond magic, little frogs, and looking after your companions. Pick up a magical staff, dress as a pondkeeper, and head out on an adventure with a few hopping friends. When the journey is over, make yourself a quiet corner with warm lantern light, reeds, and water lilies.

Mint, sage, and peach colors, floral details, water droplets, and gentle magical sparks bring the equipment, frogs, decorations, and interface together around a shared pond theme.

Staff magic

The staff offers five selectable spells and a separate frog spirit attack:

• Little Companions. Summon one, three, or up to five allied frogs. They follow their owner and help in combat with tongue attacks. Send your companions home through the journal whenever you wish.
• Frog for a While. Temporarily take on a real frog form, with stronger jumps, faster swimming, and reduced fall damage.
• A Froggy Surprise. Turn eligible enemies into harmless frogs for a short time. Friendly transformations are also available for players who give their consent.
• A Kindness of Water. Restore health to yourself and your nearby summoned frogs.
• A Shelter of Lilies. Wrap yourself in a protective spell that absorbs one hit before it expires.
• Frog Spirit. Fire magical frogs with the left mouse button. At the end of their flight, they dissolve into droplets, leaves, and sparks.

Spells use the game's mana system, have individual cooldowns, and respect your companion limit.

Your own little frog

Alongside your summoned allies, you can have a permanent, peaceful pet. Your pet is separate from the combat group and does not take up a summon slot.

• Give your frog a personal name.
• Choose a Moss, Dew, or Honey color.
• Add a pink flower, a water lily, or no flower at all — nine appearance combinations in total.
• Pet your companion and feed it red berries to build affection.
• Send it on a short visit to a consenting friend.
• Bring nearby frogs together for a little chorus.

Your pet's name, appearance, and affection are saved between play sessions.

Equipment and cozy decorations

• A custom staff with its own model, texture, and inventory icon.
• The Pondkeeper's outfit: a hood, coat, gloves, and trousers with boots. Wearing all four pieces reduces the mana cost of every staff spell and frog spirit shot by 10%.
• A dedicated Pondkeeper's crafting bench with recipes for magic, clothing, and decorations.
• A water lily lantern with switchable light, a reed planter, and a lily leaf cushion for decorating your pondside retreat.
• A spell journal for choosing magic and caring for your pet, plus a compact HUD showing mana, cooldowns, and your summoned companions.

Controls: left click fires a frog spirit; hold and release right click to cast your selected spell; Ability 1, usually Q, or /frogstaff opens the journal.
