Important Note This single main mod contains everything (workbench, crushers, furnaces, crates, chests, lights, coal, orbs, and all conversions). If you only want one piece (for example, just the coal or just the crates), there are separate smaller mods you can download instead. Do not install the main mod and any of the individual mods on the same game save — they will conflict. This mod will always update first.

Getting Started Craft the Essence Infused Workbench (very simple early-game recipe) and place it. That’s it, everything else unlocks from the tabs inside: crushers, crates, lights, orbs, fuel, Blocks, and the Essence category. From there you gather essences through regular play and start upgrading.

Essence Conversion In the Essence tab you can turn any essence into any other, every possible combination. This includes the Voidheart conversions and Greater Essence for storage. I added Greater Essence versions of all the essences that aren’t in the vanilla game yet. Handy when you need a more compact or efficient stack. (Look for other uses in future Mod updates!)

Tiered Crushers Seven tiers, each tied to an essence color (starting from basic wood, then Life green, Fire orange, Ice cyan, Water blue, Void purple AND NOW LIGHTING!).

Lower tiers handle basic crushing.
Mid tiers turn ore into chunks, then chunks into dust.
Higher tiers do everything faster — most people only ever need one.

The crusher model and glow change with each tier and look good even when you stack a few.

Tiered Furnaces Same Seven-tier system.

Tier 1 is a normal furnace.
Higher tiers smelt faster, with the top tier fast enough that one furnace handles your whole base.

They keep the rustic look and pick up the matching essence glow.

Improved Fuel Essence Infused Coal burns longer than regular coal. Combine essences for an everlasting fuel chunk — simple late-game convenience.

Storage: Crates & Chests Essence Infused Crates hold up to 63 unique items and glow with their essence color — perfect for farms or processing lines. (You can even stack a crusher on top for convenience; future updates will add proper input/output.) The chests work exactly like vanilla ones but properly form double chests and keep the essence styling.

Throwing Orbs and Essence Throwing Orbs (crafted from essence + torch) can be placed like torches or thrown to light your path temporarily. Sticky Throwing Orbs (add tree sap) stick to walls and ceilings.

Note: They only explode when thrown, and the explosion doesnt effect anything — However, damage enemies if they get in your path!

Lights Blocks and Bricks 7 colored light blocks (Basic white, Life green, Fire orange, Ice cyan, Water blue, Void purple, Lightning yellow) that give a subtle, non-blinding glow — great for bases.

6 Different Block types to choose from, Smooth, Embossed, Ornate, Brick, and Stacked Brick. All Essence Infused Blocks are Light Blocks as well, but if you just want to build with them you can shut off the light.

Aesthetics & Balance Every block and item is built to look like it already belongs in Hytale (at least that is my intention) rustic wood/metal with clean essence glows. Progression is gradual and feels natural. No config options right now; balance seems solid based on my testing, but I’m always open to feedback.

Future Plans Alternative ways to earn essence, more small QOL tweaks (like better input/output on crushers/crates) and whatever the community asks for. Drop a comment if something feels off or you have an idea.

Is this standalone? Yes — one download gives you everything. Use the individual mods only if you want just one feature.

How do I get the first essences? Same way you get everything else in Hytale (mining, farming, exploring). Conversions just let you make more of what you need.
Are the orbs safe? Yes — they don’t damage blocks or the environment, only enemies if thrown at them.
