Dirt 2

Dirt 2 is a compression mod that adds compressed versions of most Dirt and Cobble blocks. This allows block horders to store all their blocks without needing to constantly add more and more chests. 

Conversion rate: 100 vanilla dirt/cobble blocks are compressed into 1 block of their compressed varient.

Compression machines:

All three of the compression machines will search in a radius around them for chests containing compressable blocks and if finds some it will then compress the blocks and place the compressed blocks in their internal inventory. By default, the compressors will only search for inventories in the adjacent blocks, but this radius can be changed in the mods config file.

All compression machines have a default inventory size of 27 blocks, but this can also be adjusted in the config.

Dirt Compressor

Will only compress dirt blocks

Cobble Compressor

Will only compress cobblestone blocks

Omni Compressor

Will compress both dirt and cobblestone blocks

Decompressor

Compressed blocks placed in the decompressors internal inventory will automatically be converted to their vanilla uncompressed blocks. The inventory is much larger by default, and can also be adjusted in the mods config.

Crafting

All compression/decompression machines have crafting recipes in the work bench. The Omni compressor  requires workbench level 2!

Future plans

I have a wide range of ideas for this mod going forward.

• Automatic compression when the omni compressor is in the player inventory
• Mobile decompression unit: Allows you to fill a hand held item with compressed blocks that will automatically convert to their vanilla blocks as you place them.
• Tilled soil 2 for added benefit?
• Dirt tech?
