What's new
ComesAlive — Update (1 August 2026)
Craftspeople are no longer interchangeable. Each one has their own counter, their own prices for you, and a career.
🏆 Trader ranks
Villagers now learn their trade by working it, the way Minecraft villagers do.
A freshly hired craftsperson only knows the basics — a new armourer sells copper and crude gear, nothing more. Every piece you buy from them counts. Fill their bar and they rank up, bringing out a whole new tier of goods:
Apprentice → Journeyman → Veteran → Expert → Master
By the time a smith reaches Master, they are working thorium, adamantite and mithril.
- Ranking up adds to their stock, it never replaces it — a Master still sells the copper gear they started with.
- New wares appear immediately, without closing the shop window.
- Their rank and progress are shown on their char and in the title of their shop window.
- Experience belongs to the villager, not to you: a smith the whole server buys from ranks up for everyone.
Careful: giving a villager a different trade wipes their progress and starts them at Apprentice again. Moving them to another wordoes not — a smith is still a smith wherever their anvil is.

You can no longer pile the whole village into a s supports exactly one worker.** If the workshop is taken, t already works there.
This makes every workshop you build a real position, and choosing who fills it an actual decision. Villagers who pick up a trade on their too, so nobody doubles up behind your back.
