Configuration Documentation

All modifications shown below are made in the config.json file.
The plugin automatically generates and manages this file at:

/mods/ChatManager/config.json

✏️ You can edit it directly with any text editor.

⚠️ Important: Do not change the variable names (keys) — only modify the values (true/false, strings, numbers, lists, etc.).

⚙️ General settings — generalConfig

disableHytaleMessage — when set to true, hides Hytale's built-in chat messages so only ChatManager's own formatting and join/leave messages are shown.

enablePerWorldChat — when true, chat is split per world: players only see messages sent by players in their own world.

welcomeMessage — sent privately to a player the moment they join. Supports TinyMessage formatting for colors and styles.

joinMessage / leaveMessage — broadcast to the whole server when a player joins or leaves. Use {player} as a placeholder.

💬 Chat formatting — configChat

chatFormat — controls how every chat message is displayed. Build it with these placeholders:

{player} {prefix} {suffix} {message}

{prefix} and {suffix} show the player's LuckPerms group prefix/suffix. Requires LuckPerms to be installed.

clearChatMessage — shown to everyone after running /clearchat (see below).

🧹 To clear the chat instantly, use:

🛡️ Anti-spam — antiSpam

messageCooldownMs — minimum time (in milliseconds) a player must wait between two messages. The placeholder {time} in cooldownMessage gets filled with the seconds remaining.

blockedDomains — list of domain endings that will be blocked anywhere in a message (e.g. links).

⚠️ Heads up: this matches the substring anywhere in the message, so an innocent word that happens to contain ".com" or ".net" could get blocked too. Add/remove entries to fit your needs.

bannedWords — list of words or phrases that are not allowed in chat at all.

maxSimilarMessages / similarityThreshold — prevents a player from spamming near-identical messages. similarityThreshold (0 to 1) controls how close two messages need to be to count as "similar" — closer to 1 means stricter detection.

maxCapsPercentage — blocks messages where more than this percentage of letters are uppercase.

blockIPAddresses / ipRegex — when enabled, blocks any message that matches an IP address pattern, to stop players sharing server IPs in chat.

⚠️ Only edit ipRegex if you're comfortable with regular expressions — an incorrect pattern could stop blocking IPs entirely, or block normal messages by mistake.

bypassGroups — LuckPerms groups that are exempt from every anti-spam rule above (cooldown, banned words, caps, links, IPs, repeats).

📣 Auto-messages — configAutoMessage

Add as many entries as you want to autoMessageList — each one is broadcast automatically and repeats on its own timer. Perfect for rules, promotions, and announcements.

messageContent — the text that gets sent to global chat.

intervalSeconds — how often this message repeats, in seconds.

remainingSeconds — seconds left until the next broadcast of this message. Mainly used internally to track the countdown — you can usually leave it as-is.
