1. Definitions

"Software" means Arcane Loader, including its source code, binaries, and associated files distributed by or on behalf of the copyright holder.

1. Grant of Permission

Subject to this license, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Use and execute the Software to run and develop Lua mods.

• Download, receive, and make copies of the Software only as reasonably required to use it (for example: local installation, backup, CI/cache, and deployment copies).

• Compile/build the Software for your own internal/private use.

• Modify the Software for your own internal/private use.

1. Restrictions

You may NOT, without prior written permission from the copyright holder:

• Redistribute, publish, sublicense, sell, rent, lease, or otherwise provide the Software (source or binary), in whole or in part, except as expressly permitted in Section 4.

• Create or distribute public forks, mirrors, rebranded versions, or derivative loader distributions of the Software.

• Use the Software, or any modified version of it, for commercial exploitation of the loader itself, including paid hosting products, paid distributions, bundled paid offerings, or monetized licensing of the loader.

• Remove, alter, or obscure copyright, attribution, or license notices.

• Claim authorship or ownership of the Software or its substantial parts.

1. Platform Distribution Exception

The following distribution is authorized under this license:

• Official project distribution channels designated by the copyright holder, including the official Arcane Loader GitHub repository and CurseForge project page, may host, mirror, and distribute unmodified releases of the Software.

• CurseForge and its infrastructure (including mirrors, CDN distribution, and project hosting systems) are permitted to distribute the Software as part of the official Arcane Loader project page.

• Hytale company staff and event organizers/judges may copy, host, and distribute the Software solely for evaluation, showcase, competition, compatibility testing, and event operations.

This section does not grant permission to rebrand, sell, or create independent public forks of the Software.

1. Mods Are Separate

This license applies only to the Software. Mods created with or for Arcane Loader remain the property of their respective authors and may be licensed/distributed by those authors under their own terms, provided they do not redistribute Arcane Loader except as allowed by this license.

Mods created using Arcane Loader may freely depend on and reference Arcane Loader and may be distributed independently by their authors.

1. Ownership

The Software is licensed, not sold. All intellectual property rights in and to the Software remain with the copyright holder.

1. Patent Rights

No express or implied patent license is granted by this license.

1. Termination

Any violation of this license automatically terminates your rights under this license. Upon termination, you must cease all use and make reasonable efforts to delete copies in your possession or control, excluding copies retained solely as part of ordinary immutable backups.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

1. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

1. Governing Law

This license is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction chosen by the copyright holder, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
