This mod adds a system for players to customize their character more to their personal playstyle and in turn making every player more unique to eachother.
How it works:
On the right side of your inventory, next to your character view panel, you will find a new button. Once clicked a new trait menu will open, in which you can select your desired traits. Which will save over every server restart and player respawn. If you add this mod to your game with a existing character, this character needs to respawn once to see the button.
You can choose any amount of positive or negative traits, up to five each. To save you need to have an equal amount of positive to negative traits equipped. On the top right hand corner of the menu there are multiple categories under which you can sort through the different trait types more easily. With these traits you can specialize into your armor, weapon and creature types, improving their abilitys or opening up new niches for them in the current meta. Aswell as get other situational buffs. Such as empowering your creatures during combat, finding better loot, detect high level creatures nearby etc. Some of these buffs may take their time to take effect to balance quick switching between traits.
INI Options:
[TraitsForPlayers]
MaxAquiredTraits=5
(Amount of positive and negative traits a player can apply. You can currently only configure 1-10)
GuideDescription=
(Option to override the guide description inside the trait menu)
OnlyRequireHalfNegativeTraits=False
(Let's the player save their trait selection when only half the amount of negative traits to positive traits are applied. If set to True)
RemoveEqualPositiveNegativeTraitRequirement=False
(Removes the need for an equal amount of negative to positive traits for saving trait selection. If set to True)
TraitEfficiency=1.0
(Option to adjust the values of a trait. To apply you will need to define your desired trait with the displayed name inside the trait menu. For Example RuthlessEfficiency=2.0 will double the effects of the Ruthless trait. Currently doesn't work for any Specialist)
TraitDescription=
(Option to override a traits description inside the trait menu. To apply you will need to define your desired trait with the displayed name inside the trait menu. For Example RuthlessDescription=. Currently doesn't work for any Specialist)
Future Plans:
There are a lot more traits planned, but if you have any ideas or suggestion of any kind. Feel free to comment them down below. In the future there will be more config setting for you to customize buff stats changes and other menu options. I'm always open for your ideas or changes for the current system. If you find any bugs or issues please let me know.
Huge thanks to Kora83 and Dadpool for facilitating the core ideas in this mod!
