Piggle's Nanuqsaurus

Adds the icy tyrant Nanuqsaurus to the game

Check out the discord for more info!

Find and tame the icy Nanuqsaurus! Use its freezing bites to control the battlefield. Similar to Therizinosaurus or Moschops, you can improve skills in order to boost your three main abilities.

How to Tame: To tame a Nanuqsaurus you must prove your worth in combat. To begin the tame first craft the new Tyrant's Crown helmet. Equipping this helmet will inflict the Challenger buff on your mounted tames.

Approach the Nanuqsaurus with the Challenger buff active to begin the taming process. Nanuqsaurus will build stacks of Frosting on your tame with each bite, freezing it at 50 stacks. When frozen, or at max stacks you will be susceptible to Shattering when bitten. Deal as much damage to the Nanuqsaurus as you can before you are Shattered. When Nanuqsaurus Shatters you it will heal itself and gain taming progress based on the amount of damage it heals. Rinse and repeat and you'll have yourself a new Nanuqsaurus.

Spawns: Nanuqsaurus can be found pretty much anywhere you find snow. Occasionally it will spawn alongside wild Yutyrannus and join into their pack similar to wild Carnos.

Attacks:

Primary (Left-Click): Frost Bite - Standard bite attack that inflicts Frosting with each bite. Damage increases as targets gain more Frosting Stacks dealing an extra 25% damage against targets with max stacks

Secondary (Right-Click): Tail Whip - Deals damage on melee hit. Throws dust into the air inflicting the Frost Spray Debuff

Abilities: Tertiary (C-Key): Shake (On Key Press) - grants Nanuq and its rider the Frost Shield Buff Roar (On Key Hold) - A cosmetic roar. Will play different animations depending on if you are moving or standing still.

Buffs: Frost Shield - reduces fire based damage (On Fire debuff, flamethrower, fire wyvern breath, campfire damage, etc.) by 15% Duration: 30 seconds

Debuffs: Frosting - A stacking debuff that reduces movement speed as the stacks increase. Once reaching max stacks target will be frozen and all stacks will be removed If the target was recently frozen and is on cooldown, stacks will cap at 50 and the target will freeze if the cooldown ends

  • Duration: 2 seconds per stack; 1 stack will be removed upon timer expiration
  • Max stacks: 50

Frost Spray - adds five stacks of Frosting on activation. Drains stamina

  • Defendable by wearing a Gas Mask

Frost Cloud - adds a stack of Frosting every 2 seconds while active. Reduces stamina by 5 per second. Upon deactivating, target cannot receive the debuff again for 20 seconds

  • Duration: 30 seconds

Combat Levels Nanuq gains combat levels similarly to Moschops and Therizinosaurus. Levels are added via the Radial Menu and can be accessed both while mounted, and by walking up to your Nanuqsaurus. Combat Levels are used to increase the effectiveness of Nanuq's three abilities. Each skill can be increased up to 40 times, unlocking new abilities as the skill increases:

Frost Bite - each level increases the max bonus damage dealt by your Frost Bite against frozen targets or targets with Frosting Stacks Damage ramps from 25% increase at base 0 levels to 100% increase at max 40 levels At max level, hitting a frozen target or a target with 50 Frosting Stacks will shatter them. This deals 3x your base damage to the target and causes a small explosion spreading Frosting Stacks to nearby enemies All Frosting Stacks and Frozen debuffs are removed on shatter. Increases the number of Frosting stacks added per bite every 10 levels

  • 0 Levels → 1 stack
  • 10 levels → 2 stacks
  • 20 levels → 3 stacks
  • 30 levels → 4 stacks
  • 40 levels (max) → 5 stacks

Frost Spray - each level increases the range of your Tail Whip attack’s Frost Spray effect At 10 levels you’ll also spawn a Frost Cloud. The number of Frost clouds spawned increases every 10 levels.

  • 0 Levels → 0 clouds
  • 10 levels → 1 cloud
  • 20 levels → 2 clouds
  • 30 levels → 3 clouds
  • 40 levels (max) → 4 clouds

Frost Shield - each level further reduces the damage taken from fire based damage when the Frost Shield buff is applied by Shake Fire Damage resistance ramps from 15% increase at base to 75% increase at max level At max level, you receive immunity to On Fire debuffs when the buff is active

Other Things: Nanuq has an emote wheel. This will appear next to the Combat Levels Tab in the Radial Wheel. From there you can select your emote. This can be done while riding Nanuq as well.
