Mx Spyglass

A different take on an improved primitive spyglass.

Adds an improved version of the primitive spyglass, with the following features:

  • Zoom in and out using the mouse wheel.
  • Slightly less limited field of vision while in scoped mode.
  • Transition into and out of scoped view faster.
  • Mount is hidden from view while in scoped mode.

Another toggleable feature has been added to this mod that displays a creature‑detail overlay on all nearby creatures. I used to prefer relying on a simple, primitive spyglass, but ASA’s visual style and many hours of gameplay changed that. The nearby‑creatures feature is my answer to the eye strain caused by roaming around and trying to spot creatures in the bright and dense, visually cluttered environments where foliage, shadows, and excessive detail make it genuinely hard to distinguish anything. The ratings system lets you know at a glance if something is worth taming.

Add these settings to Engine.ini in your game/server to enable the nearby‑creatures feature. If the feature is enabled in the settings, it is then toggled on the spyglass using the multi‑use menu (PC: hold R, Xbox: hold X, PS5: hold Square).
