MAV'S Zero Lag

MAV’S Zero Lag is a lightweight client-side optimization mod for ARK: Survival Ascended designed to improve performance while preserving a clean, realistic visual experience.

The mod automatically applies an optimized graphics profile when the player loads into the game, reducing expensive visual effects that commonly impact FPS while keeping the sky, atmosphere and overall image quality readable and natural.

Current optimization profile includes:

• Unlocked FPS and VSync disabled
• Volumetric fog and standard fog disabled
• Volumetric clouds enabled with improved cloud quality
• Motion blur, depth of field, bloom, lens flare and chromatic aberration disabled
• Reduced grass and foliage density
• Dynamic grass shadows disabled
• Contact shadows, capsule shadows and distance-field shadows disabled
• Reduced shadow distance and light draw distance
• Hardware ray tracing for Lumen disabled
• Volumetric cloud shadow maps disabled
• Improved volumetric cloud sampling quality
• Improved TSR history quality for cleaner character and edge rendering
• Volumetric cloud Sky AO disabled for additional performance
• Improved hair shadow voxel quality
• Adaptive texture-streaming pool protection based on available VRAM

The mod does not force a fixed RAM or VRAM amount and does not hard-code CPU thread counts, helping it remain suitable for different hardware classes and supported platforms.

No external injector, runtime DLL or third-party process is required. The optimization is applied directly through the mod’s Blueprint logic using standard in-game console variables.

MAV’S Zero Lag is focused on reducing unnecessary rendering cost while keeping the game visually enjoyable, especially for players who want smoother gameplay without turning ARK into an ultra-low-quality preset.

Current development also includes ongoing investigation into heavy weather effects, low-altitude cloud/fog generation and other biome-specific performance issues.
