Death Essence Upgrade

Introduces Ark Mobile gameplay to improve the Death Essence mechanics

Mod Description

This mod introduces many upgrades to the Death Essence mechanic first introduced in Scorched Earth by turning it more into the Creature Implant system that was originally introduced in Ark Mobile and giving an alternative way to bring back your creatures and tame new ones. With it introduces the Revival Platform, Tek Implant Chamber, and the Tek Kibble Processor also from Ark Mobile and makes the Oasisaur compatable with this new mechanic as well as giving him some minor tweaks.

UPDATE 8/31/26

This large update introduces the Amber Store featuring new items from Ark Mobile that can be obtained by using the Ancient Amber resource you collect and serves as an alternative way to use your Ancient Amber besides reviving creatures from their Implants. You can access the Amber Store from the player's radial wheel. Below will explain all of the items and their effects.

Also note if you do not see the Amber Store on your radial wheel you will have to respawn in order to get it to repair (Either through dying or teleporting bed to bed)

ARKetypes

Items obtained in this category give you their Blueprints that have infinite crafts but items crafted from these Blueprints cannot be repaired.

Aerial Symbiote

  • Crafted on the player using Chitin, Potent Dust, and a Neura Husk (which now players have a chance to get from killing a Meganeura).
  • Equips to the player's offhand slot and slows you when falling but takes a damage per second while floating in the air

Eerie Turret

  • Crafted in a Fabricator using Metal Ingot, Polymer, Cementing Paste, Potent Dust, etc. Works almost identical to a regular auto turret but has infinite ammo and does not require ammo at all. Comes at a cost of Damage and Range.

Eerie Pistol

  • Crafted in the Smithy. Works just like a simple pistol but has infinite ammo, does less damage, and has half the durability. You will need 1 Simple bullet loaded into the Eerie Pistol but it will fire that simple bullet infinitely.

Frog Feet

  • Crafted on the player using Hide, Fiber, Organic Polymer, and Frog Lefs (which now players can get from killing a Beelzebufo).
  • Acts as an upgraded Scuba Flippers but you swim just a bit faster and now can jump 2x higher.

Childcare

Items obtained in this category give you an item that can be used to help with raising your baby creatures.

Bears (Cuddle, Pink, and Evil)

  • Place in the inventory of a baby creature and it will slow down their Food Consumption rate (Rate depends on Bear used) and also decreases their "Wants Care" timer to 10%. While a bear is in a creature's inventory, that creature cannot be placed in a cryopod and the Bear cannot be removed from it's inventory during an imprinting task
  • Bears take damage when placed in a baby's inventory and also take damage equal to the percentage of imprinting that creature gains. When bear loses all durability it gets worn out (which it does nothing)

Toys (Jump Rope, Paddle Ball, Yoyo)

  • Place in the inventory of a baby creature and that creature's Maturation Speed is increased but it also increases their Food Consumption rate as well
  • Toys placed in a creature's inventory are bound to the creature which means the toy cannot be removed from its inventory and is destroyed when creature fully matures or is killed. While a creature has a toy it cannot be cryopodded

Eery Candy

  • Force feed to a baby creature and it allows for Instant Imprinting

Soothing Balms

Items obtained in this category help with taming a creature. These items are remotely used from a player's hotbar or inventory (similar to the Sanguine Elixir) when a taming creature has at least 0.1% Taming. These items increase the amount of taming percentage a creature gains when a food is fed to them equal to the soothing balm used. Keep in mind these items are only really effective on Knockout and Passive tames and maybe a few other tames outside of those taming categories that gain taming percentage from eating food. Creatures excluded so far: Carcharodontosaurus Dreadnoughtus Troodon Desmodus Bloodstalker Ferox

Pheromones

Items obtained in this category help with breeding. Item is remote used similar to the Sanguine Elixir.

Carnivore Pheromone

  • Remote use on a Female Adult creature that has a Carnivorous diet (Basically gets food from Raw Meat and Raw Fish Meat) and for 5 minutes that creature gets these bonuses.
  • Increases the Females breeding speed by 2x
  • Egg or Offspring has a 4x chance at a mutation
  • Mating interval on that Female is cut by 50%

Herbivore Pheromone

  • Does basically the exact same thing as the Carnivore Pheromone but creature must have a Herbivorous diet (Basically gets food from Mejoberries and Sweet Veggie Cakes).

TEK

Items obtained in this category are Blueprints. The way TEK is handled in this mod is a node to how TEK was handled in ARK Mobile.

Pros

  • All TEK Blueprints can be crafted in the Fabricator in addition to a TEK Replicator.
  • All TEK that needed a TEK Generator can now be powered by regular electricity except the TEK Replicator which still needs Element or a TEK Generator.
  • Tekgrams are not required to use these TEK items (Keep in mind besides the basic building structures, these tek items are different from their vanilla counterparts)
  • TEK Sleeping Pod now has the additional effect from ARK Mobile where if you sleep in it for at least 9 real life hours while it is powered, you will get a 10 minute buff upon waking up that stops your stamina from decreasing
  • TEK Cloning Chamber now retains imprinting bonuses on cloned creatures and gets rid of that annoying "[Cloned]" in it's name.

Cons

  • TEK Crafted from their Blueprints take much longer to craft in the fabricator and a bit longer than usual on a TEK Replicator
  • All TEK Crafted from these blueprints require Eery Element instead of Regular Element.
  • Astrocetus TEK Saddle is equippable and rideable but cannot operate the guns and bombings without the original TEKGram (Which is on the Astrocetus BP for some unknown reason and I can't bypass it at the moment)

Eery Element

  • Is now obtained from the store and can also now be obtained by killing bosses and will award the player who gets the final blow the Eery Element in addition to whatever the boss already gives out. Eery Element is treated as regular Element for all things TEK except some of the vanilla tek items

Red Eery Element

  • New resource that is crafted from the Makeshift Megalab or Bloodforge using 1 Eery Element and 100 Bloodpacks.
  • Is required to craft Cursed Items from their blueprints obtained from the Amber Store

Cursed Blueprints

  • Now has 2 bundles in the form of Armor and Weapons.
  • Crafting requirements are slightly higher and also require Red Eery Element instead of Red Element but the output item is a completely random quality.
  • Cursed TEK items can also still be crafted at the Fabricator and don’t require the Engram for use just like the other TEK from the Amber Store

Note

  • The TEK Bunker, TEK Spear, and Cursed Items still require the Lost Colony DLC to use

Serums

Items obtained in this category help with the player's survival

Hemostatic Serums (regular and Minor)

  • Helps with healing the player

Stamina Salve (Regular and Minor)

  • Helps with recovering the player's stamina better

Adaptogenic Serum

  • Helps the player brave the world's weather

  • Lasts 24 hours
  • Helps the player withstand the Heat, Cold, Radiation, and Poison fumes (Like on Genesis)
  • Unfortunately still working on figuring out how to get this buff to help you survive the Gasses usually found in the Swamp cave, etc.

  • Your Food and Water do not decrease

Leg Day

  • Lasts 1 Hour
  • Increases your current Weight by 10x

Intense Focus

  • Lasts 1 Hour
  • Increases xp gained by 3x

Crafting Stations

Items obtained in this category give you crafting stations that have item engrams that can be crafted and obtained by using that Crafting Station's Exclusive resource which can be crafted in that crafting station using Ancient Amber. That crafting station's exclusive resource is locked to that Crafting Station but will stay with that Crafting Station if it is picked up. Items craftable from Paid DLC's still require those DLC's to craft and use.

Also if you are lucky you may get a Journeyman quality of a crafted item.

Death Essence:

  • Changed to Creature Implants and Icon changed to reflect the Creature Implants from Ark Mobile
  • All creatures that previously couldn't drop a Death Essence now do so I.E. Underwater Creatures and Unbreedable Creatures
  • Wild creatures now leave behind a Creature Implant on their dead bodies (they do not drop in a drop bag) and when revived at a Revival Platform, they revive as wild (excludes Alphas, Corrupted, Bosses, Babies, Robots)

Ancient Amber

  • A resource from Ark Mobile is now incorporated into this mod and is used as currency to revive creatures from their Implants
  • Ancient Amber has a chance to be gained by harvesting any Rocks that normally give you Stone, Flint, and Raw Metal
  • It can also have a chance to be gained from Metal Nodes and Rich Metal Nodes
  • Some Ancient Amber is guaranteed to drop from killing Alpha/Astral Creatures.

Potent Dust

  • Can be consumed by a Player or force fed to a tamed creature to give it 50xp but must cooldown in between consumptions every 30 seconds.
  • There is a 5% chance to also knock out the player or Creature in addition to the xp.
  • Also can be used in a recipe to craft potent versions of Medical Brew and Energy Brew in the cooking pot or industrial cooker.
  • Can be obtained by grinding up 1 Ancient Amber in a Mortar & Pestle to get 2 Potent Dust or grinding up 1 Ancient Amber in an Industrial Grinder to receive 6 Potent Dust.

  • Cooldown Timer before reincarnating creatures is reduced to 12 hours
  • Gains more Food per potted plant

  • Unlocks at level 65 and can be crafted on the Fabricator/Tek Replicator
  • Revives Creatures from their Creature Implants by placing the Implant in the Inventory, selecting the Implant, and pressing the "Resurrect" button
  • Resurrecting creatures requires Ancient Amber and scales with Creature Type and Creature Level
  • Revival Platform must be placed underwater to Revive creatures that can only be in water

Tek Implant Chamber:

  • Unlocks at level 102 and is crafted on the Tek Replicator

Tek Kibble Processor:

  • Unlocks at level 105 and is crafted on the Tek Replicator
  • Can convert any kibble into certain kibble using a Creature Implant and 1 Element
  • A single Creature Implant can convert an amount of kibble equal to the kibble it will create:
    • Basic Kibble Creature = Converts up to 30 Kibble

  • Kibble Processor is automatically powered by Electricity when in range of a Generator and can now be irrigated

Tame Chronicling

  • Allows you to retreat your Tamed Adult Creatures into their implant as a sort of alternative way to Cryopods.
  • In order to Chronicle your tame you simply go up to your Tame and the option is available on it's Radial Wheel and after pressing it will start the chronicling. At the end of the Particle effect the creature will disappear and a Bag will drop with the Chronicle Implant inside along with any other items the creature may have had (Equipped Saddles, inventory items, etc.)
  • Chronicle Implants last forever
  • Reviving creatures from Chronicled Implants at a Revival Platform always costs 2 Ancient Amber regardless of the creature's type and it's level

Goals for this Mod in the Future and Fixes in the works 6/20/26

Death Essence

  • Need to fix the Implant not updating the Imprinting percentage on its tooltip (Creature still has its imprinting percentage when revived it just doesn't tell you on the Tooltip).
  • Try to add the Gene Traits onto the tooltip from the latest update on the Cryopods

Chronicled Implants

  • Need to find a way to disable the Radial Wheel when the creature is being chronicled.

Disclaimer

WARNING: This mod does remap the original Death Essence and Oasisaur files!!! Be careful when using another mod that remaps the Oasisaur or the Death Essence. This mod also remaps the StoneHarvestComponent, MetalHarvestComponent, and the MetalHarvestComponent_Rich so keep that in mind if you have another mod installed that does that same thing.

WARNING: Bob's Tall Tales is required to use the Death Essence (Creature Implant) part of this mod as it contains the Death Essence and Oasisaur!
