Being dead in Among Us is boring. Not anymore.
When you die, you become a poltergeist. You can haunt the living players: scare them, guide your crewmates, or mislead everyone.
How it works
After your death a Poltergeist panel appears at the top of the screen with an energy bar. Energy recharges on its own. The more players are dead, the faster it recharges and the more you can store (10 → 30).

| 3 | Ectoplasm | 10 | 25 s | A glowing green slime appears on the floor for 18 seconds. Anyone who walks by can see it. |
- You can't haunt during meetings, ejections, or while a task or the chat is open.
- Impostor ghosts can haunt too. Nobody knows whether a ghost is helping or lying.
- Keys can be changed in
BepInEx/config/cz.poltergeist.mod.cfg.
Tactics
- Crewmate ghost: drop ectoplasm next to your body or the murder spot.
- Impostor ghost: knock next to an innocent player to make them look suspicious.
Installation (Steam, PC)
- Make a copy of your
Among Usgame folder (Steam → Manage → Browse local files, then go up one folder). - Download BepInEx 6 IL2CPP (win-x86), build be.788 or newer from builds.bepinex.dev and extract it into the copied folder, next to
Among Us.exe. - Start the game once, let BepInEx finish setting up, then close it.
- Put
BepInEx/plugins/Poltergeist.dllfrom this download into the same folder. - Start the game. You should see "+ Poltergeist v1.0.0" next to the version number in the main menu.
Every player in the lobby needs the mod. Play in private lobbies with friends.
⚠️ Beta
- Built for Among Us on Steam, build 2026.9.29 (v17.x). Other versions or stores (Epic, Microsoft Store) may not work.
- It has not been tested in a full multiplayer game yet. If something breaks, please report it in the comments and attach
BepInEx/LogOutput.log. - Game updates may break the mod until it is rebuilt.
