A feature rich Raid Assignment tool with collaboration, interoperability and macro support baked in, and accompanying Assignment Taker addon.

Description

WOS Assignments

WOS Assignments is a powerful raid coordination tool for World of Warcraft Classic, enabling raid leaders to create, share, and report structured assignments with ease. Organise encounters across customisable contexts, filter players by class and task suitability. Supports up to 8 raid contexts with 20 assignment pages each, featuring 8 rows per page plus extra instructions and private notes. This assignment is designed for Raid Leaders and those who regularly post assignments during raids – please also see our companion addon “Assignment Taker” for raid members for enhanced assignment receiving and display.

Quick Start

  • Type /ass to open the main frame.
  • Select or rename a Context (e.g., "Molten Core") via the top checkboxes for easy identification.

Building Assignments

Within each context, craft up to 20 assignment pages for bosses or trash packs. Each page supports:

  • 8 rows of targets, tasks, notes, and up to 4 players. Targets draw from defaults (e.g., raid icons like {Skull}, positions like "North") or custom additions. Tasks (e.g., "Banish") auto-filter player dropdowns to relevant classes (e.g., Warlocks only). Multiple tasks for the same player are highlighted in purple.
  • Extra Instructions at the bottom for overarching guidance.
  • Internal Notes for private reminders (not reported).

Player names persist week-to-week for stable rosters. Absent players appear in red; use the Remove Absent button to clear them and reassign quickly.

Preview & Report

  • Preview drafts in your chat frame to refine phrasing without spamming the raid.
  • Report prints the assignment in the selected channel such as raid, party, etc. or a custom channel. Clear, concise output ensures instructions can be easily understood. Also transmits to the Assignment Taker clients.

Collaboration Features

  • Share Pages: Transmit individual pages to other addon users in your group—ideal for dividing setup duties and maintaining consistency between raid leaders.
  • Whisper List: Optionally select players for delayed whispers (10s post-report) to nudge those who need a little extra guidance. Perfect for ensuring no one misses their role, particularly players who are assigned a task but are not using the Taker addon.
  • Assignment Taker Integration: Pair with the lightweight companion addon “Assignment Taker” for raid members. It displays persistent on-screen display of tasks/targets, auto-hiding when not assigned. We recommend encouraging Taker use for as many raid members as possible for maximum effectiveness.

Macros for Quick Access

Assign any page to one of 6 auto-generated macros ("AssMacro1–6"), draggable from the macro UI to action bars for one-click reporting. Tooltips show the linked assignment name on mouseover.

⚠️ Important: Log out properly after macro assignments. Abrupt disconnects may corrupt slots and cause unpredictable effects — avoid in unstable connections. We recommend a quick relog (or at least a /reload) after setting Macros for assignments. With the V2 (January 2026) update we included a Macro Backup function, which saves a rolling backup of the user's macros on a per character basis in case there are macro corruption issues due to forgetting to relog after assigning macros in WOS Assignments. This addition stores a persistent copy of the user's macros on first login and then keeps a rolling record of 50 backups. The backup is stored as Saved Variables files for each character - to access the records navigate within your game files to: World of Warcraft\ [Classic or Classic Era] \WTF\Account\[YOUR ACCOUNT NAME]\[REALM NAME]\[CHARACTER NAME]\SavedVariables\WOSMacroBackup.lua

Import & Compatibility

Designed with interoperability in mind, seamlessly import existing assignments from Applebandit via /ass import. Compatible with WoW Classic Era/SoD; and Mists of Pandaria Classic.

Defaults & Reset

  • /ass defaults: Resets all data to fresh state.
  • /ass reset [Folder#], [Page#]: Clears a specific page (e.g., /ass reset 1,5).
  • /ass report [Folder Name], [Page Name]: Quick-report by name.

Feedback welcome—please use the comments to report issues.
