WhereGuild Demo

This animated preview shows the UI in action — filtered searches by zone, role, and class, grouped by activity.

🔎 Features

  • 🧙‍♂️ Live guild overview — See who’s online and where they are
  • 🔍 Search by player name, class, role, or zone
    • mage, stratholme, tank, or madge
  • 📍 Grouped by activity type — Raiding, PvP, Dungeons, Traveling, Other
  • 🖱️ Right-click player rows — Whisper, Invite, Target
  • 🎨 Minimap button — Custom icon, draggable, with hover tooltip
  • ⏱️ Auto-refreshes every 15 seconds — fast, live-feeling, API-safe
  • 🌈 Class-colored names, familiar layout, and a Where’s Waldo-inspired aesthetic

⚙️ Technical Notes & API Limits

WhereGuild uses Blizzard’s C_GuildInfo.GuildRoster() API, refreshed every 15 seconds while the UI is open.
This interval keeps the data fresh while avoiding throttling or server spam.

Known Limitations (WoW Classic API):

  • 🕵️‍♂️ WoW Classic only provides the zone, not the subzone
    • e.g., "Booty Bay" shows as "Stranglethorn Vale"
  • 🕊️ You can’t detect if players are on a bird or boat
    • Occasionally "The Great Sea" or "Transport" zones show during travel
  • 🔄 Changes are visible every 15s, but ultra-fast movement (like a Mage portal) may appear slightly delayed

🧭 Use Cases

  • “Who’s running BRD right now?”
  • “Are there any tanks online?”
  • “Where is everyone tonight?”
  • “Is it safe to cold whisper people for a dungeon?”

WhereGuild is the radar your guild didn’t know it needed.
