v0.2.13-beta-forever
What's new
Changelog
0.2.13-beta
- Enemies placed where they stand: clusters you spot sit on the enemies themselves, worked out from their nameplates, instead of on your own position, and everyone receiving your reports sees them there. Standing still, enemies are placed in front of you as far away as they are; two groups close together show as two clusters.
- While you move, your own cluster waits on the minimap where you last stood still and catches up when you stop.
- Big clusters on the minimap are much more see-through, so they no longer hide the minimap under them.
- Real levels instead of ??: players far above your level show their real level on your target and focus frames, nameplates and tooltips. On by default, in the Map settings.
- Pick your own colours for Alliance and Horde clusters (replaces the "always red" choice), and a new option shows clusters your guildmates report in a colour of their own (green by default). Guild clusters need no check mark, and their tooltip says how many of the players reporting them are from your guild.
- A guildmate's report is trusted on its own: it is never shown as unconfirmed.
- Clusters from other players now show from 5 enemies (was 10). Everyone is set to 5 once with this update; change it back in the Map settings if you prefer.
- New setting: the most clusters drawn on your map and minimap (100 by default), keeping the ones that matter most to you: yours, your layer, the closest, the dangerous ones.
- A cluster leaves your map once you stand where it was and see nobody, yours and older ones from others alike.
- Other players' clusters whose layer is unknown are drawn like clusters on other layers, with the layer in red.
- While a test scenario plays your map shows only the test, and the realistic test shows a much busier map.
- War Effort's chat messages are now white, easier to read.
- Fixed: an enemy you target from far away could show as a cluster on your own position, and a cluster of yours could stay on the map at 0 after everyone had moved on.
0.2.12-beta
- Your own sightings stay where the enemies are: clusters you walk away from, die near or reload next to stay on your map, separate clusters close to each other show separately, and clusters no longer blink on and off.
- Clusters on everyone's map stay closer to reality: changes in size or in who is there are shared sooner.
- Clusters you spot yourself now show on your map from 3 players, as soon as you report them.
- Hovering a cluster on the minimap shows the same details as on the world map: classes, levels and more; its glow on the minimap is no longer oversized.
- The direction arrow on a cluster only shows when it is really on the move, not when you walk around it.
- Enemies shown as "??" to a lower-level scout get their real level when someone else can read it.
- Enemies already around you when you resurrect or land are counted right away.
- The addon's hidden channel no longer takes /1 (or any number before General, Trade and the others).
- Fixed an error when opening the world map during a fight.
0.2.11-beta
- Big clusters reach the rest of your faction faster, and sharing recovers quicker when the game is busy.
- The new welcome window shows once more for players who had hidden the old one.
0.2.10-beta
- Tell your group: right-click a cluster on your layer, or the portrait of an enemy in it, to tell your raid or party about it in chat.
- Silent scouts see the welcome window too, with a button to switch to the full radar.
- Sightings get through more reliably in busy fights, and the addon rejoins its channel by itself if it drops.
- Sightings show their real age even when the game delivers them late, and outdated ones are no longer shown as fresh.
- Better protection against fake or exaggerated sightings from players outside your guild.
- Very large battles are now shared (as 80 enemies) instead of being lost.
- Hiding clusters in towns is paused until town locations are reliable: clusters there are shown like anywhere else.
- Fixed: your own sightings could count as reported by a second player, and you could appear twice on the guild board.
- No more "No player named" chat errors after asking someone who just logged off to invite you.
- Zerg Radar users no longer receive War Effort's sightings: time to switch to War Effort.
0.2.9-beta
- See clusters change at a glance: when players join or leave a cluster on your layer, a short +1 / -1 with their class icons rises above it on the map. You can turn it off in the map settings.
- Test scenarios open the map and show a small window with the time left and a Stop button. The realistic scenario now has players joining and leaving more often.
- No more alerts for clusters you're reporting yourself: you can already see them.
- A clearer welcome window: how War Effort works, in four pictures, and a button to tell your guild about it.
0.2.8-beta
- Shorter test button in the welcome window: "Show a test raid".
0.2.7-beta
- Test clusters are clearly marked: alerts from them say "(test)", and the welcome window's test button says it shows a fake raid.
0.2.6-beta
- New settings for your own sightings on the world map and the minimap: shown by default, from 5 players at most 5 levels below you. New "My own sighting" test scenario to try it.
- Horde theme: titles, buttons and tooltips use a warm amber instead of red on red, easier to read.
0.2.5-beta
- Cluster history: click a reporter's name to ignore their reports.
- Players of your own faction are never counted, even when a duel or a free-for-all arena makes them hostile.
0.2.4-beta
- Cluster history: click a cluster on the map to see who reported it, with which classes, who confirmed it, players who moved on to another cluster, merges and alerts. Kept for clusters on your layer only; can be turned off in the Map settings.
- More accurate cluster counts: different enemies are mixed up less often, and a player seen joining another cluster no longer counts in the one they left.
- Chat messages share one look, and a short line at login says War Effort is running and in which mode.
- Scout events (points, contracts, milestones, streaks, promotions) are written in chat too; pick which ones in the Progression settings.
- Test scenarios: the realistic layers scenario now shows players switching clusters, a scout riding off and a merge; new "Players switching clusters" scenario.
- Fixed: a cluster met again by a scout could sometimes alert a second time.
0.2.3-beta
- Guild rally points: officers in a group can call the guild to regroup, defend or attack at a
spot (banner button on the world map, or
/we rally). Guildmates in that zone and on that layer get a toast and a horn. Settings in the new Guild tab, with test scenarios. - Sighting points only count enemies at most 5 levels below you.
- Toasts and contracts name the enemy faction ("Horde cluster spotted").
- Layer invite requests only offered in the cluster's zone.
- Alerts flash the game icon in the taskbar or Dock (can be turned off).
- The guild roster and status page show who runs Silent scout.
- Map: green check before confirmed clusters, no more "?" or dark backdrop.
- Settings buttons fit longer translations.
- The frequent toasts (cluster spotted, sighting confirmed, your report confirmed) are now off by default.
- Fixed: when a player spotted a second, different cluster, the first one vanished from the map.
- The roster's "Sharing" column shows whether a player chose to share, no longer "No" while they are dead or flying.
0.2.2-beta
- Reports wait for a cluster's count to settle and go out at its real size, with fewer messages.
- Enemies stay counted 30 seconds after their nameplate disappears (was 60).
- Fixed: public presence could go 6 minutes without updating after a zone change.
- Windows: blurry background crest removed; close button tinted by faction.
0.2.1-beta
- Guild leaderboard in the scout record: this week, all time and category leaders.
- Only PvP-flagged enemies are counted, on every realm.
- Minimap button: click opens the scout record, right-click the settings.
- Scout ranks take longer to earn.
- New faction-themed look for all windows, toasts and alerts.
- Richer map and minimap tooltips (class icons, size bar, state tags).
