Vanilla Scrolling Quest Text (For Midnight)
Revived from vanilla WoW, this addon brings back immersive, scrolling quest text. Watch dialogue unfold character-by-character

If you're anything like me you probably enjoy reading the quest text. With this addon it will be much easier, it brings back the old immersive quest text scrolling from vanilla (patches 1.x - 3.x) to WoW retail (Midnight). It's fully featured and even includes niche features like if you hold your mouse button on the quest window the text will move faster
It's also fully configurable, the defaults are essensially vanilla WoW defaults. But you can alter the speed of the text or if the "accept" button should be grayed out or not
Configuration
Slash Commands
Fine-tune your experience with these simple commands:
- /sqt slow — Gentle, leisurely scroll
- /sqt normal — Classic vanilla speed (default)
- /sqt fast — Quick but still immersive
- /sqt instant — Skip scrolling entirely
- /sqt speed X — Set exact characters per second (e.g., /sqt speed 50)
- /sqt speedup X — Set hold-click speed multiplier (e.g., /sqt speedup 4 for 4× faster)
Options Panel
Dive deeper with the in-game settings:
- Navigate to ESC → Options → AddOns → Scrolling Quest Text
- Adjust scrolling speed and hold-click speedup with sliders
- Toggle the grayed-out Accept button for extra immersion (default)
