  • Tracks and Warns you about Horde/Alliance NPC's that involuntary flag you for PvP Combat
  • Warns Low Level Bank Alts against all currently known Grief Methods in Major Cities
  • Alerts are fully automated and will disappear automatically after 7 seconds and do not require you to click "X"
  • Alerts are disabled while flying (during Taxi) since there is no need on Hardcore
  • Shows you In-game Notifications about current & relevant Hardcore News, Grief-Tactics, Names of confirmed Griefers and even warns you about expected Server outages and lag.
  • Acoustic Alerts are throttled to prevent annoying Spam and cannot occur more than once every 60 Seconds, but the visual Alert Frame will always trigger without any throttle just in case to keep you safe
  • Per Character Profile Data allows individual Tracking Settings that vary by Character level range and Faction
  • Display Enemy Abilities in a detailed way, including duration of effects, damage values and a comprehensive mechanic breakdown
  • Object Based Warnings for dangerous-to-click Objects such as Blood of Heroes or the Candles in BFD
  • Water-walk Grief Protection automatically cancels the water walking buff while falling long distances when another player attempts to grief you e.g while jumping from a Zeppelin
  • NEW: Real-time Map tracking shows detections on a realm-wide level as an elegant icon on your map for your respective layer. The system gracefully navigates layer swaps and respects your personal tracking system. If multiple units are detected nearby, the map will display a consolidated cluster icon to prevent cluttering the map. Notifications on your map will also trigger an alert notification when the Player is in proximity
  • NEW: Proximity Communications share & receive Alerts on a Realm-wide level, offering superior scanning coverage despite Blizzards recent API nerf compared to any other addon. UnitScan Hardcore is the first and only Addon to employ this scanning technique and has the numbers to make it feasible at 1 Million+ downloads. The Proximity Communication System currently requires NovaWorldBuffs to be installed
  • Will always display Alerts even during combat - Similar addons don't actually do this, because they create a SecureActionButton-Frame, wich cannot be done during Combat. This is extremely bad in HC because you are constantly grinding Mobs & doing stuff. UnitScan Hardcore will instead dynamically create a Secure- or NonSecure Frame depending on whether the player is in combat or not and thus will always reliably show rare/elite alerts
  • Performs better and reduces FPS lag - Other Addons were not made to track a huge amount of Units with a Hardcore game mode in mind and therefore will result in dropped FPS for some people on slower/dated machines. Unitscan Hardcore diminishes Performance Impact by reducing the API function call. Tracked Units will still be detected instantaneous, but performance impact is lessened greatly
  • Alert Frames can be moved by holding CTRL and dragging the Alert with the mouse - needs to be done in- & out of combat once.

/Hcscan - Opens the Ingame Settings Menu

/unitscan <unit name> - Manually adds or removes Units to be tracked

/unitscan - Prints a list of all current globally tracked Units in the Chat

                                    Proximity Based Communication System

Blizzard’s recent API change removed broad-range scanning, forcing Unitscan Hardcore and similar addons to abandon the previous detection method and rely on event-driven techniques since there is no other way to do it anymore. The problem is, event-based scanning alone is not reliable. This update introduces a realm-wide alert-sharing network, the first and only of its kind: when one player detects a rare or dangerous unit, a filtered alert is shared on a realm-wide level, substantially increasing the chances that others will be notified.

Real-time Map Tracking:

Any detection from other players will be tracked and visible on the map, featuring a smart system that will display matches in real time, automatically remove old entries and also consider your current layer & proximity. The system also checks whether or not you are personally tracking a unit, to avoid unwanted notifications. When multiple detections appear in the same proximity, the system elegantly consolidates them into a single icon, showing detailed information about wich units on wich layer have been detected.

Strength in Numbers:

With over one Million downloads contributing to the network all over the classic realms, detections occur far more frequently than with event-only scanning. Unitscan Hardcore further reduces false or irrelevant alerts by checking zone, proximity, and layer before sending or displaying a shared alert, resulting in a more selective and reliable detection system. Transmissions occur silently with no user-visible indicators. All data is encoded into an opaque, non-human-readable string to protect user privacy. UnitScan Hardcore also has throttles and cooldowns in place to prevent spamming in any way.

Fully Automated Alerts:

Alerts are fully automated, appearing on your screen and disappearing after 7 seconds without requiring you to click "X." Having to close an Alert Frame over and over while leveling gets old real quick. By reducing unnecessary clicking, these alerts allow you to stay concentrated, react promptly, and fully focus on combat while leveling.

Stay updated, stay alive:

Unitscan Hardcore provides timely in-game notifications, keeping you up-to-date with the latest and most relevant Hardcore news, including the most recent Grief-Tactics being used in the community. It offers in-game alerts on the names of confirmed griefers, helping players avoid these disruptive individuals. Additionally, the addon keeps you informed about potential server outages and lag issues, ensuring you're always prepared for any server instability.

What sets Unitscan Hardcore apart is its dedication to accuracy and fairness when reporting griefers. Only those players who have clear evidence — such as screenshots and videos — of their behavior, which have been posted on platforms like Reddit and the Battle.net forums, will be officially reported. This ensures that reports are based on verified and substantiated claims, protecting the community from false accusations while maintaining a high standard of integrity.

Intuitive UI to manage tracked Units & News:

Unitscan Hardcore offers a clean and easy-to-use interface, allowing you to configure and customize tracked units across multiple characters and both factions effortlessly. Its straightforward and requires no explanation, making it simple to tailor settings to your preferences.

Display Enemy Abilities:

Enhance your combat awareness by knowing enemy abilities in detail. This isn't just spell names; it's seeing precise durations of effects, exact damage values, and a breakdown of mechanics. This also works for Enemies inside of Dungeons & Raids. If enabled, the Enemy Ability Frame shows automatically for all hostile Units - it automatically hides if no enemy is targeted, your current target is dead or as soon as you're entering combat.

Object Based Alerts:

Designed to prevent accidental interactions with hazardous in-game objects. This feature automatically detects and warns you about dangerous-to-click objects such as Blood of Heroes in the Plaguelands or the Candles in Blackfathom Deeps (BFD). By identifying & highlighting these high-risk interactables, the system issues clear visual and audio alerts before a player can trigger them, helping avoid unwanted enemy spawns.

Water-walk Grief Protection:

Automatically detects potential griefing attempts that exploit water-walking effects. When falling long distances, for example jumping off a Zeppelin, or doing the big jump in Maraudon, UnitScan Hardcore will instantly cancel your water-walking buff to prevent fatal impact damage upon landing. This eliminates one of the most common forms of griefing.
