Tracking Plus

Abandoned
Automatically changes active tracking mode according to player settings.

Description

Tracking Plus allows you ultimate control over your tracking modes! About a dozen seperate choices allow you to fine-tune when Tracking Plus should cycle through it's list of tracking modes, and when it shouldn't! Control how long it waits before switching to the next tracking mode (useful when you're farming in areas which don't always allow flight, such as Wintergrasp. Tracking plus also adds a right-click context menu to the tracking mode button on the mini-map, for super-convenient access to all of the most common features.

Easily and quickly create tracking mode cycles of up to 16 different tracking modes. Tracking Plus is completely flexible - want to build a 10-node cycle with every other selection pointing to the same resource type? You won't hear any complaints from Tracking Plus!!

Passing through an area and notice a blip on the mini-map that you want to investigate? Tracking Plus allows you to easily bind keys to pause the cycle, as well as jump to the next or previous tracking mode.

Configure different profiles for differnet areas or different types of mounts.

Tracking Plus now also provides a switch to disable the tick sound that is normally played when you change the tracking mode - no more hacking sound files or blasting music while you farm (well, you can still blast your music if you want to, lol).

A little background

When I originally needed this feature while playing, there were a few addons that did the same thing, but lacked the polish I was looking for. Some of them would cause constant feedback messages (You can't do that right now) as they tried to cycle tracking modes while my character was busy doing some other action, or would try to switch to the next tracking mode before the global cooldown was up from the last switch, stuff like that. The idea behind this addon is provide a tracking mode cycler that doesn't interfere with normal gameplay.

I tried to add options for everything that would be useful for an addon that cycles through tracking modes, but if there are any options or features you can think of that you'd find useful, I'd love to hear about them!

Supported Console Commands

(You should replace any words in italics with an actual value when use the command. Words inside brackets [] are optional.)

  • /tplus config - Open the blizzard interface options menu (where you end up when you open the game menu, click Interface, and select the AddOns tab)
  • /tplus options - Opens a standalone options window. Use this command if you have a large number of addons and/or want to jump straight to the options for this addon.
  • /tplus toggle [on/off]- Controls whether the addon cycles through tracking modes or not. If you want to force a particular state, you can add "on" or "off" to the command (/tplus toggle off).
  • /tplus cycle_switch_delay seconds - Sets the delay (in seconds) before the addon will switch to the next tracking mode in the cycle. You can set this as low as you want, the add will always wait for the global cooldown to finish before switching again. For example, if you set this value to 1, but your global cooldown is 2 seconds, the addon would switch to the next tracking mode as soon as the global cooldown was complete.

There are a few other commands which allow you to configure various options, but since they are much simpler to set using the UI, I won't go over them here (however, to see the full list of options, simply type /tplus without any parameters).
