Description
Inspired by the minimal npc dialogue bubbles in other games like Guild Wars 2, as well as features found in other chat addons like Prat, which have speech bubble shortening options, this addon goes a step further, attempting to replicate the feel of the bubbles in Guild Wars 2. Chat and dialogue always outputs to your chat log anyways, so if you have another way to find the person speaking in the actual world, why bother having 2 seperate displays for those messages to begin with?
So to that end, unlike prat and others that use the same methods to shorten the clutter of speech bubbles, I wanted a more nuclear option. NO mousing over the bubbles to expand the full message, and a total nuke of the character limit that cuts off the message, so all that remains is the humble ellipses.
While it may be true that this style of speech bubble works better in a game like gw2 where all the npc dialogue is voiced, it still works well with certain UI setups such as mine. And now it can for you, too.
