v1.2.0
What's new
Changelog
[1.2.0] - 2026-10-10
Added
- SMoRG's QoL is now also available on Wago Addons, WoWInterface and GitHub Releases, so addon managers such as WowUp can install and update it from there.
- Translations — the addon now speaks German, French, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Korean and Simplified and Traditional Chinese: the options window, Blizzard's Settings page, tooltips, chat messages,
/sqol help, the launcher tooltip and on-screen text (item level/speed line, range in meters or 码/碼, tooltip target, floating reputation gains). The addon description in the in-game AddOns list is translated too. The quest voice lines stay in English, and slash commands are the same in every language. The translations have not been checked by native speakers yet, so corrections are very welcome on CurseForge or GitHub.
Changed
/sqol,/sqol helpand the login splash now use the same names as the options window, list every option, and show aliases next to each command (e.g./sqol autotrack (at)). Toggling a feature prints its name and the new state, e.g.Show party member levels: ON.- Long option names are cut off with "..." in the options window instead of running past the column; the tooltip shows the full name.
Fixed
- Floating reputation gains and auto-watch reputation now work on non-English clients. Reputation messages are read with Blizzard's own localized templates instead of English text patterns.
After updating, restart the game (a /reload is not enough), because this release adds new files.
[1.1.0] - 2026-09-26
Added
- WoW Forever support: the TOC now lists interface
16001alongside Retail120100. - Color quest progress now also colors the current count of each objective in the objective tracker (for example, the
1in1/5 Boar Pelt), for quests, campaign quests, world quests and bonus objectives. Finished objectives keep a green count while Blizzard grays them out. The rest of the line keeps Blizzard's color, and turning the option off restores the plain text. - Added a standalone options window with all settings grouped into sections (Quests, Character, Reputation & XP, Group, Interface, Advanced). Open it with
/sqol config(options), from the addon compartment menu, from LibDataBroker displays such as Bazooka or Titan Panel, or from the optional minimap button. Left-click opens the window, right-click Blizzard's Settings page. The window, the Settings page and the slash commands stay in sync. - Added an optional range icon and distance (
/sqol rangeor/sqol rng) on the target's nameplate, where Blizzard's soft target sword icon sits (next to the target frame portrait when there is no nameplate): the distance to an attackable target in yards (< 5 yd,8-30 yd,> 40 yd, worked out from the ranges of the abilities on your action bars), and a pulsing icon when none of your offensive abilities can reach it. It uses the action buttons' own range check, so it follows forms and bonus bars. While enabled, Blizzard's soft target sword icon (SoftTargetIconEnemy) is turned off, and it is turned back on when the feature is disabled. Disabled by default. - Added an optional minimap button (
/sqol minimapor/sqol mm), disabled by default. - Blizzard's Settings page now groups the options under the same section headers.
- Added optional Show target in unit tooltips (
/sqol tooltiptargetor/sqol tt): aTarget:line in unit tooltips showing who the unit is targeting, class-colored for players, reaction-colored for NPCs and a redYouwhen it is you. The line updates while you hover. Disabled by default; skipped when the client hides the unit's data (secret values).
Changed
- The PlayerFrame item level/speed line now sits just above the name and level on Retail, so it no longer overlaps long names, druid mana or class resources. On WoW Forever it sits under the health/mana bars.
- Nameplate objective counts now sit just above the unit name when Blizzard's nameplate style shows the name above the health bar, instead of overlapping it. With the name inside the health bar, the position is unchanged.
- Hide completed achievements is hidden from the options and shown as
N/Ain/sqoloutput on clients withoutBlizzard_AchievementUI(such as WoW Forever, which uses the Legacy system instead of achievements)./sqol haexplains that the option is unavailable there.
Developer notes
- Embeds LibStub, CallbackHandler-1.0, LibDataBroker-1.1 and LibDBIcon-1.0 under
Libs/. The TOC loads new files, so a full client restart is needed after updating (a/reloadis not enough). - All options are defined once in
SQOL.OptionSections(Options.lua); the Settings page and the options window are both built from it. - The smoke test now also covers tracker count colors, nameplate count anchoring, the tooltip target line, the launcher, minimap button, options window, and the range icon, distance and soft target icon handling.
[1.0.24] - 2026-09-06
Added
- Reputation bar text now appends the percentage remaining and current standing after the total when XP/reputation number colors are enabled (for example,
4995 / 6000 · 16.8% left · Friendly). - Added optional Floating reputation gains (
/sqol reptextor/sqol rt): simple green text near the character that rises and fades out. Independent of RepWatch and disabled by default./sqol reptexttestpreviews the display. Uses English reputation gain messages, including kills, quests and account-wide (Your Warband's reputation with …) gains. - Added Color XP/reputation numbers (
/sqol barcoloror/sqol bc). The current number on Blizzard's standard XP and reputation bars changes from red through yellow to green as progress increases. Labels and maximum values stay white, and the text gains an outline for readability. Bar textures and colors are unchanged. - XP/reputation number colors have their own setting, independent of Color quest progress, and are disabled by default.
Changed
- Split the PlayerFrame item level and movement speed display into two independent settings: Show item level on PlayerFrame and Show movement speed on PlayerFrame. Enable either value alone, both on the same line, or neither.
/sqol ilvland/sqol statsnow toggle only item level./sqol speedand/sqol spdtoggle movement speed separately.- Existing combined item level/speed preferences are migrated to both new settings on first load, preserving the previous display. Existing values for the new settings are kept.
- Organized the implementation into shared core, visual tweaks, quest progress, player stats, party levels, reputation and countdown modules. Settings, commands and event routing remain in the main controller.
Developer validation
- Added a standalone smoke test that loads the actual TOC file order and exercises initialization, commands, option changes, events, deferred callbacks and reset using mocked WoW objects.
[1.0.23] - 2026-08-24
Fixed
- Fixed a taint error ("Attempt to access forbidden object") spammed when nameplates appeared. The party-level hook on
CompactUnitFrame_UpdateNamealso fires for nameplates (forbidden frames), and touching them threw. It now bails out early on forbidden frames and never touches nameplate frames.
[1.0.22] - 2026-08-01
Added
- Added a small level label for every party member on both the default frames and raid-style (CompactUnitFrame) party frames. The feature is enabled by default, applies only to party frames (not raid or arena frames), and can be toggled with
/SQOL partylevel(pl) or the settings panel.
[1.0.21] - 2026-07-20
Added
- Added a countdown timer on the group finder queue pop showing how long is left to accept (40 seconds). Toggle with
/SQOL lfgtimer(lfg) or the settings panel. - Added
/SQOL rctestand/SQOL lfgtestto preview either countdown without a group or a queue.
Fixed
- The ready check countdown is no longer invisible when you start the ready check yourself. It was drawn inside
ReadyCheckFrame, which Blizzard never shows to the initiator; it now lives on its own frame and moves to the top of the screen when there is no popup to sit under.
[1.0.20] - 2026-07-13
Added
- Added a live countdown timer on the ready check popup showing how many seconds are left before it expires (turns red in the last 5 seconds). Toggle with
/SQOL readycheck(rc) or the settings panel.
[1.0.19] - 2026-07-08
Added
- Show colorized progress messages for scenario weighted-progress bars (e.g. Void Incursion's "Defending Stillwhisper"), which live outside the quest system and were previously never reported.
[1.0.18] - 2026-07-05
Fixed
- RepWatch no longer rescans on UPDATE_FACTION while the Reputation panel is open, so clicking an expansion header to collapse/expand it no longer makes the list jump.
[1.0.17] - 2026-07-04
Fixed
- Show colorized progress messages for progress-bar quest objectives (e.g. "Umbral Attuning Shard charged"), using the objective's own label and avoiding a duplicated percentage.
[1.0.16] - 2026-06-14
Added
- Added a separate sound when an individual quest objective is completed.
- Added selectable Horde (Peon) and Alliance (Human worker) quest sound profiles.
Fixed
- Reset quest completion tracking when a quest is accepted even if auto-track is disabled.
[1.0.15] - 2026-05-05
Fixed
- Kept quest completion sound and chat alerts limited to when a quest becomes ready to turn in.
[1.0.14] - 2026-04-24
Fixed
- Fixed PlayerFrame speed display errors caused by WoW 12.0 secret movement speed values.
[1.0.13] - 2026-04-02
Fixed
- Fixed 'msg' a secret string value tainted
[1.0.11] - 2026-01-29
Fixed
- Better nameplate objective handling
[1.0.10] - 2026-01-08
Fixed
- RepWatch preserves collapsed reputation headers instead of forcing the list open.
- RepWatch verifies the watched faction actually changed and falls back to legacy index switching when needed.
[1.0.9] - 2026-01-07
Fixed
- RepWatch now refreshes faction counts after expanding headers, so watched reputation switches reliably on gains.
[1.0.8] - 2026-01-04
Changed
- Progress for 100-based objectives now displays as a percent (e.g., 45% instead of 45/100).
[1.0.7] - 2026-01-02
Added
- Optional cursor shake highlight to help locate the mouse cursor during combat.
- Debug command to flash the cursor ring on demand (
/sqol cursorflash).
[1.0.6] - 2026-01-02
Added
- Optional nameplate objective counts (e.g., 0/10) with tooltip/progress-bar fallbacks.
Fixed
- Tooltip-based progress ignores threat lines to prevent false 100/100 displays.
[1.0.5] - 2026-01-01
Changed
- Updated
.tocmetadata (clean Notes, proper fields, removed unrelated CurseForge links). - Added
