Description
RaidAssist
A heads-up toolkit for raiding in The Burning Crusade Classic. RaidAssist puts the things a raid leader calls out — an incoming boss ability, who is missing buffs, whose debuff is dangerous, when to interrupt, when to move — onto your screen as clean, movable frames.
Content currently covers The Battle for Mount Hyjal, Serpentshrine Cavern and Black Temple — every boss's abilities, plus a per-instance trash pack of ground effects, dangerous debuffs, interrupt casters and counter-play. More raids and refinements are added as the addon keeps being maintained.
Features
- Encounter ability timers — while a boss fight is open (
ENCOUNTER_START→ENCOUNTER_END) RaidAssist watches the boss's casts and shows a stack of bars: a countdown to when each ability is next available, and a bar for every effect running right now. Alongside them a single cast bar for the boss's current cast, and — for the dangerous few that need a synchronized raid reaction — a big centre-screen radial counting down the last seconds before the ability lands. Every encounter and every ability is individually toggleable. - Big centre-screen icons — the "get out now" call. Chosen abilities (Rain of Fire, Doom, Inferno, Fear, the Soul Charges, and so on) flash a large icon in the middle of the screen for the duration of the effect.
- Raid Check — on a ready check, or on command, a compact list shows who in the raid is missing flasks, food and other expected buffs.
- Special debuff tracking — a live list of raid-threatening debuffs (Doom, Mark of Kaz'rogal, Grip of the Legion, …) — who has one and for how long — with the rows that matter most, such as a healer carrying a healing-reduction debuff, highlighted.
- Missing-debuff warning — a held centre-screen banner that stays up while something is still wrong and clears the instant it's fixed. Its first use: warning when the boss has lost its Mortal Strike / Wound Poison style healing-reduction debuff, so its incoming healing is no longer cut.
- Interrupt calls — watches catalogued trash and boss casters and flashes an "INTERRUPT" banner with a sound the instant one begins the cast that needs kicking.
- Trash cast calls — for a catalogued trash mob casting something the whole raid must answer together (kill this totem, purge this buff, spread from this) a centre-screen countdown, a big icon and a mark on the target — plus a running count of stacking enemy buffs like Bonechewer Taskmaster's Fury.
- Hazard warnings — "MOVE!" alerts for standing in ground effects, on trash as well as bosses.
- Low-mana list — during mana-punishing fights, an on-screen list of players below a mana threshold so you can send them to drink before the mechanic lands.
- Healer mana panel — whenever you are grouped with assigned healers, a live list of each one and the mana they have left, the low ones flagged, so you can call a drink or a Mana Tide before the healing falls out from under the raid.
- Pre-fight reminders — a small stack of icons nagging you about prep you have not done: equip your PvP trinket before Rage Winterchill, carry Tears of the Goddess before Archimonde, loot your quest item, and so on.
- Personal counter-play prompts — when a boss ability is cast on you and your class can shrug it off, a prompt names the escape — e.g. Archimonde's Air Burst → "Vanish" for a Rogue, "Feign Death" for a Hunter; Kaz'rogal's Cripple → "Cloak of Shadows". It also covers item counters (a Warlock's Master Soulstone for Doom) and raid-wide ones the whole group can help with.
- Mount Hyjal wave tracker — reads Blizzard's own wave counter and replaces it with a better panel: wave X / 8, enemies remaining, a per-mob "alive / total" breakdown from known spawn tables, and a 2-minute "Next wave" countdown in the timer stack. Each incoming wave's mob composition is called out on the alert banner. The state survives a
/reloadmid-run. - Role marking — hands out raid target icons by assigned role in roster order (Star → Circle → … → Skull). In Mount Hyjal it marks the healers automatically the moment the wave before Anetheron is cleared, and every Shaman in the raid the moment Azgalor falls (Archimonde prep).
- Fight simulator — replay scripted fights, bosses and trash packs alike, out of combat to see exactly what the addon will show.
