Description
This small addon will monitor ALL chat windows and look for a specified text phrase. If that phrase is listed in the ChatSound_config.lua file it will play the .wav file specified.
In addition, you can have it Display a Text label (with custom color) in the top center of the screen when the .wav is played
To use the addon you must be comfortable editing the ChatSound_config.lua file with notepad. You have to tell it what text to look for and what .wav to play.
The addon comes with 3 buff events configured, they are for my warlock but you can easily see how to set your own triggers up
I made this addon for myself to know when my warlock's talent proc Nightfall was trigged. Sometimes in the heat of battle the default wow sound can be missed so this way i can have it play my own wave when the proc occurs.
I also use it to play a .wav when my Demon Armor and Soulstone buffs run out.
Hope this is some use to others, since it quick and dirty with no fancy ui changes like most mods.
** Note : It monitors all chat, meaning if you have a trigger set on the phrase "Demon Armor fades" and you type that yourself in a chat window, it will trigger the .wav to play.
I made this to replace the BuffSound addon since it has more potential than just on Buff Events
== Installation :
Unzip the Chatsound.zip and copy the Chatsound folder into the Interface\AddOns folder.
If you have previously installed BuffSound, delete that folder from Interface\AddOns to prevent any conflicts
