3D Model Viewer

See your favorite NPCs up close with the built-in model viewer. Rotate, zoom, and admire the details. For characters with multiple forms (like dragons), switch between their appearances with a single click.

Expansion Timeline

Follow each character's journey through Warcraft history. From events before World of Warcraft through Classic, Burning Crusade, and all the way to The War Within - see how their stories evolved expansion by expansion.

Clickable Waypoints

Location names in the lore text are clickable! Set waypoints directly from the description to visit important places in each character's story. Works with TomTom and Blizzard's built-in waypoints.

Related NPCs

Discover connections between characters. Each NPC entry shows related characters, making it easy to explore the web of relationships in Warcraft lore.

Smart Search & Filtering

• Fuzzy Search: Find NPCs by name, title, or keywords in their lore
• Faction Filter: Browse Alliance, Horde, Neutral, or Enemy characters
• Expansion Filter: Show only NPCs relevant to specific expansions
• Smart Sorting: NPCs are sorted by latest expansion appearance, so current content is always at the top

Tooltip Integration

See NPC lore summaries when hovering over characters in the game world.

Bilingual Support

Full support for English and German. The addon automatically displays lore in your game's language.

Slash Commands

• /npcodex - Toggle the NPCodex window
• /npcodex target - Open with current target selected
• /npcodex expose - Export current target's NPC data
• /npcodex coords - Show current location coordinates (for contributors)
• /npcodex macro - Create macros for quick access
• /npcodex help - Show all available commands

Usage

1. Click the minimap button or type /npcodex to open
2. Target an NPC in-game and use /npcodex target to jump directly to their entry
3. Use the search box to find specific NPCs
4. Filter by faction or expansion using the dropdown menus
5. Click an NPC to view their 3D model and lore
6. Click on location names in the text to set waypoints
7. Switch between expansion tabs to see how their story developed

A Note on the NPC Database

Every lore entry in NPCodex is crafted by hand with love, mass quantities of East Frisian tea, and an unhealthy amount of time spent browsing wikis and listening to lore podcasts. This means two things:

1. The database grows steadily but surely (quality over quantity!)
2. If your favorite NPC isn't in here yet… they might be next on the list. Or you could always send me a friendly poke.
