You can open the addon either by clicking on the minimap icon or with /ns

Some of the functionality will only work if everyone in your raid is using this Addon.

Ready Check Module

On Ready Check you can perform a number of checks on your gear, raidbuffs and spell-cooldowns to make sure you don't accidentally have a wrong item equipped or your cd won't be up on pull

Reminders

Your raidleader can import a string from https://wowutils.com/ to automatically share them to you and have it displayed to you at the correct time during an encounter. You can also import them to your personal reminders instead.

Encounter Alerts

Some generic Encounter Alerts can be enabled for each boss. Most of these are just "Reminders" about upcoming mechanics that are important. In some rare cases they might be able to do more.

Private Auras

You can easily move the position of Private Auras around and change their size / grow behaviour. 

You can also add a sound to any aura you want, or use sounds chosen by me.

Setup Manager

It lets you arrange raid group in either a "default" tank - melee - ranged - healer order or split the group into 2 even setups. For the split it takes role, class and spec into consideration to get the best spread possible (for example if you have 2monks it will split them up to ensure you get the debuff on both sides)

Version Checking

You can check the Version Number of an Addon or the contents of the MRT Note of your raid.

The Name of everything is case sensitive and for Addons  you have to enter the Name of Addon-FOLDER. For example for this Addon it would be "NorthernSkyRaidTools" - notice no spaces here. You can save all the Addons you want to check in the presets section.

NickNames

Enabling Nicknames for addons works different for each of them. Mouseover their setting to get an explanation on what you have to do

In short there are probably 3 ways to use this feature:

1. Only for yourself. In that case you want to disable all of the Share and Sync Options. Then you can either import(explained in next case) or manually add nicknames you want displayed when clicking on the "Edit Nicknames" option.
2. One person from your guild imports Nicknames from a sheet and then syncs those nicknames with the guild. You do this by clicking on "Edit Nicknames" and then "Import Nicknames" The expected string has the following format: charactername-realm:nickname;charactername-realm:nickname  For the realm it is important that this is the realmname returned by /dump GetNormalizedRealmName() which you can simply test ingame. Afterwards you click on "Sync Nicknames" which will give your guild a popup to accept importing your entire database.
3. Everyone set their own nickname and have it automatically be shared with your guild. For this you just set your nickname, enable nicknames globally and set both Share Options to "Guild". This is what we will be using.
