MidnightUI — One addon instead of a dozen.
A complete UI replacement for World of Warcraft: Midnight. Unit frames, action bars, nameplates, chat, map, quest log, bags, character pane, guild pane, and group finder — all in one clean, consistent addon. Built from the ground up for Midnight's combat restrictions. No conflicts, no version mismatches, no hunting down which addon broke after patch day.
Why These Three Matter
Patreon keeps MidnightUI free. The addon will always be free, but every Midnight patch breaks something. Patron support pays for the time spent fixing combat-lockdown rules, taint changes, and new API restrictions before they reach you. Patrons also get monthly giveaways.
Discord is the fastest way to get help, request features, or report a bug. It is also where new builds get tested before they hit CurseForge.
MPI Companion is the other half of the Mythic+ scoring system. It is a small free addon you install alongside MidnightUI that uploads your runs to a web dashboard at mpi.atyzi.com — where you get leaderboards, per-dungeon trend graphs, guild comparisons, and a full history across every alt. It is also what makes your MPI score visible in the Group Finder so group leaders can see how you actually perform before they invite you. Without the Companion, your scores stay on your own machine and no one else ever sees them. Install it and your keys start carrying real receipts.
Why Download MidnightUI?
- One addon instead of a dozen. No conflicts, no version mismatches, no hunting down which addon broke after patch day.
- Built for Midnight from the ground up. Every panel and frame was designed around how the game works right now — not an old addon patched to keep up.
- Ready in minutes. A first-login wizard walks you through a preset (MidnightUI, Mythic+, Raid Focused, or Class Themed), basic positioning, and keybinds.

Unit Frames and Combat Information
Player, Target, Focus, Pet, Party, Raid, and Main Tank frames all share a consistent gradient style with class colors, absorb shields, incoming-heal prediction, and aura displays. Class-specific resources like Combo Points, Soul Shards, and Death Knight Runes get their own animated overlays.
The Condition Border system pulses animated brackets around your Player Frame in the color of any harmful debuff on you (Magic blue, Curse purple, Disease orange, Poison green, Bleed red, Enrage red). The same color treatment lights up the edges of every party, raid, focus, and main tank frame so you can call dispels at a glance, even during instanced combat where most addons go dark.
The Dispel Tracking row shows a separate set of icons containing only the debuffs your character can actually cleanse. Click an icon to cast the dispel directly. The icons are pre-filtered to your spec, so a Resto Druid only sees Magic, Curse, and Poison; a Demon Hunter only sees Magic.
The Interrupt Tracker shows your party's kick rotation in real time. Each kicker gets an icon, the next one up gets a green border, and the rotation respects role priority (Tank, then DPS, then Healer) and recent-use fairness. Hovering shows each cooldown remaining.
Action Bars and Keybinds
Eight action bars cover all 96 standard slots, plus a pet bar and a stance bar that switches automatically with your form. Every button shows out-of-range red tint or out-of-resource grey tint with a smooth cast sweep animation.
Hover-to-bind lets you set a hotkey by hovering a button and pressing whatever you want to bind — keys, mouse buttons, or the scroll wheel — with Shift, Ctrl, and Alt for combos (e.g. Shift+Right-Click, Shift+Wheel Up for an interrupt). No menus, no command lines, no /reload. Bindings save per-character automatically.
Bar styling (Class Color, Faithful, Glass, or Hidden), button size, spacing, and per-bar colors are all configurable, including hotkey font and color.
Cast Bars and Mirror Timers
Player, Target, Focus, and nameplate cast bars all share the same look and behavior. They show the spell icon, name, time remaining (with millisecond precision), and a shield for non-interruptible casts. Channels, empower stages, and crafting all have their own visual states.
The breath bar (underwater, fatigue zones, etc.) uses the same cast bar styling and drains smoothly while you are submerged, then refills correctly when you surface.
Nameplates
Custom health bars on every nameplate with threat coloring, integrated cast bars, hover glow, and a dispel-icon overlay so you can spot dispellable debuffs from across the room. Threat coloring works from both player and tank perspectives, and the logic handles groups without a player tank correctly so you don't get false threat alerts.
Combat fade keeps non-target nameplates dim until they enter combat, with smooth fade-in transitions when they engage.
Chat, Market, and Standalone Windows
The Messenger replaces Blizzard's chat with a tabbed layout covering Local, Group, Guild, Whispers, Trade, Services, Combat Log, and Market. Up to 200 messages per channel, optional timestamps, and three visual styles.
A collapsible sidebar slides away when you're not hovering and shrinks to a bubble with an unread badge. Right-click any message to copy its text into a dialog you can paste elsewhere.
Battle.net whispers appear as their own tabs so BNet conversations stay readable alongside in-game chat.
Tear off any channel into a standalone floating window. Up to 3 windows can run at once, each with its own size, font, and opacity. Great for keeping Guild and Group chat side-by-side during a key.
The Market Monitor watches Trade and Services with profession and keyword filters, tagging messages by intent (Buying, Selling, Crafting, Deal) and parking them in a dedicated tab so you can follow the market without drowning in chat.
World Map and Quest Log
The world map gets a parchment aesthetic with custom navigation, fullscreen toggle, floor switcher for multi-level zones, and an annotation system you can use to drop your own pins and notes.
The integrated quest log slides in from the left edge of the map and organizes every active quest into NOW / NEXT / LATER buckets with campaign cards for multi-part chains, zone groupings, search, and inline objective expansion. Click any quest to highlight it on the map.
Quest Interface
The custom quest dialog presents NPCs as 3D models with typewriter-animated text. It runs through Detail (read), Progress (objectives), Complete (rewards), and Gossip (talk) modes with a parchment-styled backdrop and an animated banner when you accept a new quest. Click the text to instantly skip the typewriter animation. You can disable the whole system from Settings if you prefer Blizzard's default UI.
Inventory and Loot
The bag window can run in consolidated mode (everything in one grid) or separate-bag mode (each bag its own panel). Smart Sort organizes items by category, quality, or item level, and quick-filter buttons isolate BoE items, Warbound gear, Hearthstones, or M+ keystones. A currency row shows your gold, Flightstones, and any other tracked currencies at a glance.
The Loot Window shows item-level comparisons against your equipped gear and a side panel listing which group members would upgrade from each looted item, complete with their iLvl differences.
Character Panel
Press C to open a redesigned character window. Your character model is the centerpiece, with rotate and zoom controls and warm lighting. Every gear slot lists its item, name colored by quality, slot label, and item level.
Primary stats, stamina, armor, and all secondary ratings (Crit, Haste, Mastery, Versatility) display with detailed breakdowns. Hover any stat for a full explanation.
Tabs switch between gear, reputation by expansion, and currencies grouped by category. Pick from your earned titles, access equipment sets from the header, and swap between them in one click.
Guild Tools
Press J to open the guild panel. Header shows your guild name, realm, member count, rank, and tabard. The roster is a fully searchable list with class-colored names, level, rank, zone, and last online time. Sort by any column. Right-click any member for Whisper, Invite, Promote, Demote, or Copy Name.
Live guild and officer chat is built right into the panel. Click a name to whisper. Achievement and item links are clickable. Officers can switch between guild and officer chat with one button.
Click the keystone icon to create an M+ key listing for your guild. Pick a dungeon, set the key level, choose roles you need, and your guildmates running MidnightUI get a notification with a Join button. Guildmates without the addon can type !join in guild chat to sign up. You see applicants in real time and can invite or decline with one click.
Guild Recruitment
Open the Guild Finder from the Guild Panel header. Browse guilds actively recruiting, see their schedule and roles needed, and apply with one click. Your character info fills in automatically.
Officers get a recruitment panel inside the Guild Panel. Set your guild's focus, pick the specs you need, write a pitch, and your listing goes live. Auto-broadcast can post your recruitment message at a configurable interval. Whispers matching your application keyword are intercepted and logged so you never miss a candidate, even if no officers are online when they reach out.
Group Finder
A custom premade group browser for dungeons, Mythic+, raids, and PvP. Each result shows the leader, activity, and a row of pills with key level, item level, role openings, and player rating. Apply with one click; track sent applications and withdraw any of them. Auto-refresh keeps the list current. Built-in MPI scores show next to player names so you can see at a glance who is performing well.
M+ Performance Intelligence (MPI)
MPI is a Mythic+ scoring system built directly into MidnightUI. All scoring is computed locally from your own combat data — nothing is pulled from third-party sites. After each dungeon, MPI scores your run across five dimensions:
- Awareness · Decision-making, mechanic dodging, and rotation timing.
- Survival · Damage taken, deaths avoided, and healing efficiency.
- Output · Your DPS, HPS, or effective damage reduction relative to the key level.
- Role Efficiency · Resource management, cooldown usage, and threat generation specific to your role.
- Teamwork · Group support, interrupts executed, and coordinated play.
Scores are weighted by role. Augmentation Evokers get a dedicated weighting that reflects their support role. Each score grades from S-tier down to F-tier.
Track Dungeon Mastery as you run the same key multiple times (Mastered, Comfortable, or Learning), earn six standard badges (Active Kicker, Clean Run, Timed+, Improver, Iron Will, Dungeon Expert) plus nine prestige badges for exceptional runs (Flawless, No Wipe, Pacesetter, MVP, Wall, Triage Master, Reaper, Chain Breaker, Under Pressure), and see MPI scores in the Group Finder when building or joining groups.
The addon ships with a bundled community database so you can look up other players' MPI profiles without leaving the game. The optional MPI Companion app at mpi.atyzi.com provides a web dashboard with leaderboards, guild comparison, and per-dungeon trend graphs.
Profiles, Setup Wizard, and Diagnostics
A first-login wizard walks you through theme selection, keybind setup, and initial layout so you are not dropped into a blank slate. Pick from preset configurations (MidnightUI, Mythic+, Raid Focused, or Class Themed) and tune from there.
The profile system saves your full configuration as a compact copy-pasteable string — small enough to drop into a Discord message. Export it, import someone else's, or clone your layout across alts. Per-character snapshots automatically save on login and logout so you can roll back to any previous state. A companion-app bridge lets web tools push profiles directly into the addon for you to apply.
The Diagnostics Console captures every Lua error, taint event, warning, and debug line in the background — never a popup during combat. Repeats deduplicate automatically, and nothing unique is dropped: up to 5,000 events per session stay live, with older ones archived rather than lost. Review logged problems on your own time, and if you need to report a bug, export a clean report formatted for human reading or for Discord support.
Edit Mode and Customization
Right-click any movable frame to unlock it. Drag it where you want. Snap-to-grid and arrow-key pixel nudge let you align everything pixel-perfectly. Position changes attempted during combat are queued and applied the moment combat ends, so you never get a taint error.
Action bars and unit frames support Class Color, Faithful, Glass, and Hidden styles, with per-bar overrides and Custom RGB pickers for most surfaces. Almost every visual element can be recolored, repositioned, or toggled off entirely.
