Description

Midnight Lure Tracker (MLT)

Midnight Lure Tracker is an essential tool for every player engaged in the Skinning profession in the World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion. The addon fully automates and organizes the process of crafting, using, and tracking all five rare baits (Majestic Lures) from the Talented Tracker tree.

Instead of clicking through profession tabs and manually checking hidden daily quests, you get a single, minimalist, and fully interactive window that seamlessly integrates with the default Skinning panel.

A massive thank you to user bljakk for their extensive contributions to the functionality and usability of this addon!

Core Functionality: The addon automatically appears in the bottom right corner of the screen whenever you open the Skinning profession window. It clearly displays all five lures (Eversong, Zul'Aman, Harandar, Voidstorm, Grand Beast). From this single interface, you can track your materials, craft new lures, drop them at your character's feet, and navigate to the correct locations using built-in waypoints.

Main Features:

  • Smart Crafting Management: The spell icon calculates on the fly and displays exactly how many lures you can craft with the fish currently in your bags. A single click automatically opens your Skinning window and crafts the lure! The button will vividly glow to alert you when you have the materials to craft but currently have 0 lures in your bags.
  • Smart Quick Use (Dropping): The item icon allows you to instantly drop the selected lure at your character's feet. Thanks to built-in "Sixth Sense" buff tracking, the button will strategically glow when you are standing in the correct sub-zone and have a lure ready to drop.
  • Daily Lockout & Alt Tracking: The addon monitors the hidden quest IDs for each of the rare beasts. A live status indicator lets you know if you have already killed a specific boss today (READY / KILLED) and displays the reset cooldown. Hovering over the status reveals a detailed tooltip showing the lockout status across all your saved alternate characters!
  • Profession Buffs & Consumables: Integrated bottom-bar buttons help you manage your skinning buffs:
    • Sharpen Your Knife (Taxing): Features a live cooldown timer and glows when the ability is ready to cast.
    • Sanguithorn Tea (Relaxed): Displays your total consumable count. It dynamically glows when you have tea available but are missing the buff, and safely disables itself while the buff is active to prevent accidental double-usage.
  • Built-in Waypoints: Each row features a "Mark" button. Clicking it utilizes WoW's native map system to place a precise Super Tracked Waypoint exactly where the specific lure needs to be placed.
  • Material Tracking: Easily view the exact ratio of required materials you hold (e.g., 4/8). Additionally, Shift-Clicking any fish icon instantly links the item to your active chat or the Auction House search bar.
  • Modern, Flat Design: The interface boasts a minimalist, ElvUI-inspired aesthetic with crisp 1-pixel borders, ensuring it doesn't clutter your UI.
  • Customizable Window (Flexibility): You can easily detach the window from the profession panel and drag-and-drop it anywhere on your screen. Furthermore, the window includes a bottom-right drag grip for manual resizing, and + / - buttons in the title bar to adjust the UI scale. Your custom size and position are saved persistently across sessions.

Slash Commands:

  • /mlt - Cleanly toggles the addon window visibility, allowing you to force it open even if the profession panel is closed.
  • /mlt reset - Resets the window's position, scale, and size, reattaching it to its default spot (bottom right corner of the Skinning panel).
  • /mlt clear - Wipes the saved alternate characters database.
  • /mlt help - Prints a list of all available commands in the chat.

Known Issue: Upon first logging into the game (without reloading), clicking the "Craft Lure" button may successfully open the profession window but fail to execute the craft. Subsequent clicks or reloading the UI resolves this.
