Key Audit
What's new
9.0.0
This release fixes three bugs that made earlier versions report wrong numbers. If you used 5.1.0, your recorded history is unreliable — /ka wipe and start clean.
Fixed
- The cooldown list was nearly empty. Only 2 of the Cooldown Manager's 8 categories were being read, the query was pre-filtered at the C level, and entries whose spell ID lives in an override field were silently dropped. Most characters tracked one or two spells instead of twenty.
- Specialization was never detected, so pairing rules never loaded for anyone.
- Session statistics reset mid-key. The tracked list rebuilt on
SPELLS_CHANGEDand equipment changes, wiping accumulated counters each time. Idle numbers were reporting time since the last rebuild rather than time across the key — often by a factor of ten. - Leftover bar graphics behind rows in the Deaths view.
- Duplicate spell names in the "you cast" column.
Added
- Pulls view. The key is segmented by combat, each pull sized by enemy count, showing which cooldowns you used and any deaths. Flags the pulls you went through without pressing anything.
- Grouped cooldown table — throughput, externals, personal defensives, interrupts and control, trinkets and consumables. A stun and a damage cooldown are no longer judged by the same standard.
- Death clustering and wipe detection. Deaths within 10 seconds are one incident. A wipe is measured as most of the group dying together, not several deaths close in time.
- Per-dungeon trends. Comparisons prefer previous runs in the same dungeon and say so, falling back to overall history when there isn't enough.
- Options panel under Esc → Options → AddOns, with a spell blacklist you can tick through. Also reachable from the report window and
/ka config. /ka ignore <spell>to exclude a spell from reports.
Changed
- Wipes are excluded from blame. An external saves one person, not five. Wipes are reported separately as a mechanic or route problem.
- Deaths are reported as incidents rather than bodies, so one wipe stops counting as five findings.
- Multiple "never cast" findings collapse into a single line.
- Interrupts and trinkets no longer produce "never cast" warnings.
- Downtime reporting is off by default. Being stunned and channelled spells both read as dead time, so the number isn't trustworthy yet.
/ka downtime onto enable.
Removed
- The Rogue stealth-opener reminder. It was a live in-combat nudge with no counterpart in the report — a different kind of addon wearing this one's name. It now ships separately as Stealth Opener.
Known limitations
- Charge-based cooldowns show cast counts only.
currentChargesis a secret value in 12.x; nothing can distinguish 1-of-2 from 0-of-2. - "Unused casts" needs a few keys before it appears — cooldown durations are measured by observation because they can't be looked up.
- Pull sizes come from nameplate counts and reflect your nameplate settings. Useful for ranking pulls against each other, not as an exact count.
- Pairing rules are hand-written across 25 specs and talent trees move. A wrong rule goes silent rather than firing; please report anything missing with the output of
/ka spells.
