Description
iNameplateHide is a lightweight but incredibly practical World of Warcraft addon that automatically manages the visibility of nameplates (the health bars and name labels above units) based on what's actually happening in the game. Instead of toggling nameplates on or off manually, this addon reacts dynamically to combat situations, aggro, and targeting — giving you a clean, clutter-free UI when you don't need nameplates, and full visibility the moment you do.
The Problem iNameplateHide Solves
By default, World of Warcraft shows nameplates above every visible unit the moment you enable them. In cities, while riding mounts, or exploring the open world, this quickly turns into visual chaos — dozens of names floating across your screen, obscuring the environment, and cluttering the interface during moments that have nothing to do with combat. Turn them off entirely, and you lose critical information right when you need it most: in the middle of a fight.

Technical Highlights
Pre-combat threat detection: The addon polls for aggro every 100 milliseconds, detecting when an enemy is targeting the player even before WoW's official combat flag (InCombatLockdown) kicks in. You'll never miss the opening moment of a fight.
Combat lockdown safe: WoW restricts certain UI changes during active combat. iNameplateHide tracks the desired state internally during those windows and applies it cleanly the moment combat ends — fully compliant with WoW's protection systems.
Persistent settings: All your preferences are stored using WoW's SavedVariables system and survive game restarts, patches, and session resets automatically.
